    Forget the end of the year, Thibs will lose his job by the All Star break if his team is 5 or 6 games below 500.

    I wouldn't be too terribly upset if we had to give up EGO in a trade for Butler.

    To those who argue that trading EGO negatively affects our bench scoring: When you have a team with Harden, CP3, Melo, and Butler, MDA can always stagger minutes so that we have at least 1 or 2 of those guys on the court at all times.

    The only player that I'd hate to lose is PJ.

    And those 4 draft picks? Totally worth it. Bill Simmons said that our window closed last year after our Game 7 loss and I refused to believe him, but after watching our team through the first 5 games of the season, I'm starting to think that Bill may have been right. EGO and those 4 draft picks is a high price but one that you have to pay if you want to re-open that window...

    Just my 2 cents.

    I am sure Morey has many permutations of trade options for Butler. Aside from the 4 Firsts+BK+Chriss.

    Gordon/Knight/Chriss 3 Firsts for Butler & Taj is interesting. If Thibs "just has to have" a player to take the place of Butler (Gordon), I can see Morey relenting here. BUT, IF I am Morey, and the Wolves "have to have Gordon" I reduce it to 2 firsts. If Minny wants 3 firsts, then Morey needs to get Tyus Jones in the deal.

    So you could have this package array.

    Gordon/Knight/Chriss + 3 Firsts FOR Butler+Taj+Jones

    Gordon/Knight/Chriss + 2 Firsts FOR Butler+Taj

    Gordon/Chriss + 1 First FOR Butler

    Knight/Chriss + 4 Firsts FOR Butler

    Wondering if @cyberx or @Codman have been hearing anything new this weekend. Any new developments.
    Also interesting that @ch44 has gone radio silent for quite some time. I can only guess it is because the Rockets are serious on Butler?

    I am sure Morey & Tilman are waving around those "4 First Round Picks" in Wolves owner Glen Taylor's face to get him to bite. Seems clear Thibs wants a PLAYER in the deal. So it might come down to Glen Taylor putting his fist down and forcing Thibs to make the 4 Firsts trade.

    BTW, Wolves have 1 more game before Oct 31st. But DO play Oct 31st, that night.

    I’m with you on it’s ok to lose EGO. I dare say him and Lou willians back when were ideal trade chips for Morey. But it’s the four first rounders that make no sense to me. Even if y don’t believe in draft picks, first round picks remain desirable trade assets.

    It was a foolish initial bid imho.

    Gordon for Butler is fair I guess but I am just content to try to add an impact or more player that is 6'9 or bigger.
