Every team adds new players every year If they trade a player during their contract that means they want to move in a new direction A direction leading to more wins
What's your point? Lin had a $12M expiring contract and he was coming off a major injury and surgery. You don't think that impacted his value at the time?
So the Nets traded Bojan Bogdonvic two years ago, and now the Nets are improved since then. Are you saying that Bogdonovic sucks and that the Nets are improving because they got rid of him? He's currently starting for the current 3rd seed in the Eastern Conference. The idea that the Nets are improving because they got rid of Lin is ridiculous.
So he’s not worth 12 million ? His surgery went well and he’s healthy The point is the nets wanted to get better so they traded him . I’m not the gm but that’s what the gm is responsible for
For a player who had only played 36 games in 2 seasons trying to recover from a ruptured patella? Yeah, $12M is risky for sure. The same injury pretty much ended Antonio McDyess' career. Caron Butler's performance also took a significant hit after he ruptured his, tho he was able to actually play for 4 more years (not at the same level has before the injury). While Lin has shown this season that he is still able to play at a high level, the questions around it over the summer combined with a roster that was heavy at Guard made $12M a risk not worth taking. I am 99% sure that if Lin had not been injured and he played at the level he showed in his first year with the Nets, they would not have traded him.

The Hawks have not used Lin in any way to try to win games (other than the Wizards game last week, when they unexpected gave him most of the minutes in the 4th quarter in a close game). If the Hawks made Lin the starter and primary PG for the team, they would absolutely be better than they've been. Win more games? Maybe...but they've been blown out so many times, it's hard to say. But they are not a team that is prioritizing winning, so they are willing to have the team go through growing pains in order to develop their players. They are certainly not starting their 5 best players at each position. Re: "Have they won when he wasn't playing?"...is this an indication of your basketball knowledge? What a dumb question...
I would love to see another iteration of Linsanity. If he could bust out of playoff run of 30ppg it would be sick viral.
Hopefully he'll get the chance...but even if he's coming off the bench for a team making a playoff run, that would be great too..
He’s a better SG than SF...but even at SF, do you think he’s worth $19M/yr? ...and tinman said he wanted Bazemore as a guard.
He is better than Brandon Knight. With the Rox already over the cap they can't sign somebody better. SG and SF are interchangeable Gordon plays 1-3. Harden plays 1-2. Lol who cares who is 1 2 3 Harden Cp3 and Bazemore in the lineuo would be pretty good.
