Well-coached teams typically don't commit a bunch of penalties. The teams rounding out the top 5 are: Chicago, New Orleans, New England, and Minnesota. Houston is at #16. And the Chiefs are last. It doesn't necessarily mean Vrabel is a better overall coach than O'Brien; but it's definitely something BOB can improve on.

edit: Texans were 30th last season but having a bunch of replacement players will undoubtedly lead to more penalties.

Pretty fitting to end the season with the offense sputtering to 20 points and Watson getting knocked around.

This shouldn't be good enough for an OC to stay employed, but I suspect it will be.

After all this, can you imagine if we lost in the playoffs to the Colts or t***? After all this, that one loss could could get him fired.

Let me guess, you're also upset that we didn't bench Watson?

I wish we'd have benched Watson once we went up three scores. But there's no way I'm going to complain about the amount of points we scored against a good defense.

Jags have a pretty good defense this season. They shutout Andrew Luck

It's either u bench your franchise qb or you actually score points. Risky plays is stupid if all u had to show for it was 3 points in a half where u can b conservative. My issue was that BoB tried to not b conservative but only got 3 points from it while risking watson health, pretty stupid.

He did a 8-8 job with a last place schedule which computed to 11-5.

Their two last place schedule games were Cleveland and Denver.

Look what Baltimore is doing to Cleveland and Denver lost to Oakland and is losing to the chargers right now.

Denver is a dumpster fire NOW thanks to a ton of injuries...wasn't really the case when the Texans played them. Cleveland is basically a .500 team with a boat-load of talent on both sides of the ball, and they were also hot when the Texans played them.

Its not that hard to actually calculate overall schedule strength based on actual standings... and the Texans did not play the easiest possible schedule amongst all playoff teams.

Its also pretty silly to argue about a "last place schedule" when it only impacts 2 games. By that logic, the Colts benefitted more from their schedule by getting to play Oakland and Cincinnati (and they lost to Cincy).

The players for the texans are not a bigger issue than the coaching is in my opinion. I'm referencing our schedule to coaching because the coaching is exposed at a higher and more embarrassing level against playoff level teams than the actual players on the field would be against tougher competition.

But your right Colts schedule was trash but their coaching elevated from week 4 when they gifted us a game. If our coach doesn't grow some balls and match how aggressive he talks to media to how he calls the plays... the Texans will find out exactly what I'm implying is true really really quick.

So, what is it? Are they really an 8-8 team like you suggested? Or should they be 14-2 based on their schedule, and were simply held back by coaching?

You're all over the place with this logic. At the end of the day, IMO, this is a 9-12 win team. They lost games they had no business losing vs. the Titans and Giants to start the year. They won games against the Broncos and Cowboys that could have gone either way. Not putting that Colts game as a "gift"... should have been at worst a tie.

Seeing where all the teams are ending up at the end of the year, its not that egregious to see losses to the Pats, Colts, and Eagles.

You mean Baltimore at home and potentially getting knocked out of the playoffs by Cleveland? I’m looking.

    The offense will be fine.

They will get Coutee back for the playoff game.

Watson also has a history of stepping up when it matters most.
