I like Rivers because it seems like he's had to overcome a lot as the coaches son. If you read the quotes by Big Baby and other former Clippers it seems there was a lot of resentment at what was traded away to get him in LA. You combine what he's been through with what he has shown us in his first few games so far and it seems he's got some character to go with his game. I'm excited to see if he brings the grit to the current team the way Gerald Green brought the joy last year.
Rivers plays with a lot of heart.Like Pete Rose, and James harden. If on your team, you love them. if not you hate them.
Ive always thought he is a good player, i dont really get why the wizards released him but its fine for me lol. I just wonder if the air between him and CP3 is cleared.
When he has shared the floor with Harden that is exactly to a T what he’s been doing. lol And once CP comes back that will be his full time responsibility. 3 and D
That would be a mistake. EG and Rivers need to keep taking turns driving to the basket, even when CP3 returns. Don't go back to that losing style of play that we ran out there early in the season. Standing around waiting to shoot a 3 is not the best way to use either EG or Rivers. Just like CP3 standing around in the corner waiting to shoot a 3 is not the best way to use him either. Attack the basket. Get everyone involved on the offense. I think that is the best recipe for the Rockets.
He can help so much on defence like Ariza, which can help capela and tucker defence. Ennis cannot do that. Austin is a good sign. We can still have chances to get a win without Gordon and cp3 for Memphis matchup
There was a point a cpl seasons ago where his driving layups started to go in rather than over the backboard that it seemed he had become a serviceable player.
In his third game on the team he played 37 minutes and scored ten points with seven assists in a close game. Without him, the Rockets probably lose last night. Was looking up his assists and came across this old tweet: For all the jokes about him, Rivers is a fighter. Very competitive guy with a chip on his shoulder (trying to prove he's more than just Doc's kid) which is probably a reason many find him annoying.
What is it you think we are doing differently, other than actually making shots now? Our offense is the same as it has been. Also how many minutes is Rivers really gonna lock in when our 3 guard rotation is fully healthy? 5-8, maybe?
YEP - I call him Austin Powers because he has special GRITTY powers...and it is cooler than rivers. DD
Hopefully more than 8 just to give CP3 and Harden more rest. I would like to keep CP3 minutes down below 30 and hold him out of back to backs. Playoff are all that matters at this point.
I think we gotta surround James & Chris with as many scrappy, tough players as possible. The most successful role players that have played here since the Harden era all got PAID. The Rockets need to stick to that formula moving forward. No more MCW's
Harden 34 Gordon 24(some minutes at 3) Paul 28 IF they could keep these minutes for those 3 at the guard spots that leaves 10 minutes to fill. 6 remaining back to backs. I’d truly be surprised that when those 3 are healthy he gets much run. Just not a lot of available time. But glad he’s helping while we do have an injury and it’s great to have some semblance of insurance if something changes later.
