Why does the mainstream media always dislike Harden?

Hard to say. They are the media and we are just common folk.

 

They’ve always disliked Houston. Harden is just the icing on the cake

 

part of it is that harden never talks/fights back, which makes him an easy convenient target to just make up crap about. otherwise it's hard to say, b/c with the nike angle you still have curry. with the ugly angle you still have brow. with the small market angle you still have alphabet. so who knows..

 

Media conspiracy

 

Most opposing fans hate him. Aside from KD he's probably the most hated guy in the league. He's a lazy, no defense playing flopper who ruins the game by abusing the rules, or so they will say. Without fouls he ain't s**t. Just read the comments on any Harden video or highlight.

Of course ESPN and co. could do the responsible thing and try to educate fans on how awesome he is, but why take the time to do that when literally only one fanbase appreciates him. Just do the easy thing and play to the audience.

I actually don't think Media dislikes Harden. The reason why you see so many hit pieces on Harden is because they are pandering to idiotic casual fans that don't like Harden's style of play. Anyone who knows a bit about basketball has high respect for Harden's game, and don't judge Harden on mere aesthetics. But casual fans do, and they are the ones clicking NBA articles on the internet, so the media has to cater to those low-IQ idiots.

They don't. It's just that interest-based algorithms drive more of that stuff towards you because it's likely to keep you more connected. All fans feel that way. Warriors and Lakers fans feel the way you do. Don't be a slave to a digital illusion.

On a funny note, I read Warriors fans are complaining about the lack of a quality roster hahahahaha

1) Morey screws all the teams by outsmarting them (so other teams cry foul and then the media portrays the Rockets
as the villain in this real life pro-wrestling made for TV drama called the NBA). Every drama needs a “Heel” or “Bad Guy.” Morey pulled the wool over the Thunders eyes when we got Harden. Morey screwed their
beloved Lakers when Dwight Howard left them for.....H..O...U...S...T...O...N!!! Them: “are you kidding me?!”

2) Harden goes to strip clubs......dates strippers. LeBron has his wife, Curry has his wife, Durant is or was seen
as a Puritan/nice guy. Harden is set up to look like a bad guy.

3) California-NY markets (West-East coast) sell and act as leaders....while everyone else supposedly follows them.
So if the big sports studios in the big markets push Durant in California....well then it sells everywhere. Pushing
Durant in OKC didn’t get them anything. Pushing Westbrook in OKC doesn’t get them much; but they cash in
on Westbrook going to L.A. Westbrook would still be the “bad guy”.....but their “bad guy.”

Harden could go to L.A. and be loved. Still a “bad boy”.....but their “bad boy.” Making them money.
In theory.

 

They really don't hate Harden..what they hate is that he plays for Houston! If he played in any other major media market they'd love him!!

 

If he played for NY, CHI or LA...the hate would go away!!

 

Houston just doesn’t fit in with the national narrative. That’s why I always like to give them something to talk about.

 

You have to wait for Cousins to come back.

Normally you have 1 MVP 2 Allstars Borderline Allstars, pure role players.

GSW just got more stars and less quality role players.

The more Allstars you have, the less quality role players you get. All those Allstars are prone to injuries as well.

Of course GSW's bench is also as talented as the Houston bench. That means not much.

as a foreigner and rox fan I hv the same feeling. every time I chk reddit for post game comments, rox game thread was never among the hottest. fewer comments and less attention that’s all I can observe. Any reasons behind?
