I wonder if he wasn't getting paid how he would react to the shutdown of the government.

trump offers federal workers another Christmas gift for the new year... lets see, coupled with inflation (currently estimated at 2.44% for 2019), that's a significant pay cut. Hopefully that tax cut federal workers didn't get will help counter that pay cut.

Trump issues executive order freezing federal workers' pay in 2019

Democrats: 5 billion for border security is far too much money to spend.

Also Democrats: Kamala Harris proposes "Livable Incomes for Families Today" plan that would cost 300 billion dollars a year

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez proposed "Medicare for all" that would cost 4 trillion dollars a year.

Hypocrisy? First you strawmanned liberals position on the wall, not a surprise there...and you seem to be completely ignorant about this whole situation.

You do realize that Dear Leader Trump had 25 billion for his wall from the Democrats earlier in the year, right? This magnificent deal maker turned it down...and now he's begging for 5 billion....for the Wall...that he promised Mexico would pay for...remember that? 5 billion wouldn't even build his wall. It costs more than that. It's an empty promise and literally 5 billion in the garbage can when it can literally be used to house homeless veterans instead.

Lastly, you seem to not understand that people have different values on things and some things cost more.

    Here's a story for you...

Better watch out, I hear that according to many here, that's hate speech. Internet outrage mobs have been formed over that kind of comment.

Me repeating what has been said numerous times is not a "strawman", how many Democrat representatives and Senators have to say that 5 billion for border security is too expensive before you'd realize it isn't a strawman?

The entire point of what I was saying was to point out the hypocrisy of those who wish to spend literally trillions more per year on their pet projects saying that 5 billion is "too expensive". It's neither a straw man, nor unfair criticism.

    Can you quote one?

Wasn't Mexico supposed to pay for the wall?

How about Nancy Pelosi? She claimed that 5 billion for border security was "immoral, ineffective, and too expensive"

I mean, even Kamala Harris has b****ed about the cost of building a wall (though she was claiming it would cost 70 billion) despite pushing for MUCH more expensive programs aimed at wealth redistribution that would be ineffective and essentially just throwing hundreds of billions of dollars in the garbage every year.

It's funny that you keep going back to this same red herring every time you run into a point that you can't dispute.

She said that about the BORDER WALL...huge difference there.

Well, it's closer to 70 billion than it is 5 billion...and if she thinks it is costing 70 Billion then wouldn't that change her perspective on it?

I'd just like you to address the fact that Trump promised Mexico would pay for the wall.

As for your "point" it is hardly that. Let me dispute this 'brilliant' point that you think can't be disputed...

The wall IS Trump's pet project...5 billion on the wall is too much because it doesn't even build the wall. Would you pay $300 to build a house? No, because you can't build a full house with $300. The wall doesn't cost $5 billion in its entirety so him acting like all he needs his 5 billion for his border wall is a LIE. We know it's a lie because earlier in the year he asked for 25 billion and we know it is a lie because all estimates have it over 5 billion and that conservative estimates are around 20 billion...so he basically turned down his wall earlier in the year. The only reason he's doing this is to keep the support of those in his base, like you, because if he bends on the wall they will flee.

When one understands that 5 billion would only build part of the wall one has to wonder if that is worth it. Is it worth it to throw money at something that won't be completed? You could say yes if you knew you were going to get the rest of that funding eventually...but with Democrats gaining control in the Congress it makes no sense for him to do that. It makes no sense for any government to put projects on layaway.

Especially when that 5 billion could be used to house veterans, fix Flint's water, and provide health insurance for citizens...then it's not worth it.

Now, will you finally address the fact that Trump promised Mexico would pay for the wall or are you going to dodge and avoid it again?

Not really a big difference, but sure, it is different. That said, my point was about Democrats whining about 5 billion when they are actively attempting to light hundreds of billions of dollars on fire for pet projects.

That's by far the highest estimate and even then, she has put out a pet project that would cost more than 4 times that much every single year.....so again, it's beyond hypocritical for her to balk at the expense. Hell just by refusing the 5 billion and shutting down the government Democrats are costing taxpayers more than 5 billion dollars. This is 100% about not giving Trump a win and literally nothing else matters more than that to Democrats.

Of course you do, that's always your go to red herring when you are faced with arguments you can't dispute. I pointed that out to you already.

The point of the 5 billion is to get the ball rolling, it was never intended to pay for the whole thing. You'd start the project in the most sensitive areas that need it the most and move on from there. The reason Trump is putting his foot down right now is because if the project isn't started now, it won't ever be and it's one of the top things that got him elected.

Literally the ONLY reason Democrats don't want to fun the project is because it would be a win for Trump. It's not all that expensive compared to the other nonsense they are trying to push and if it's ultimately ineffective, that would be a win for them in the long run. They simply don't want to allow Trump to get a win at all costs. It's Trump Derangement Syndrome in action.

Speaking of that, I found a fun Trump Derangement Syndrome video, and this seems to be a decent enough place to share it. It'll kind of give you a visual representation of what is going on in DC.

The wall is bad policy even if you're a racist bald forehead-american with spray on dome.

It's actually a great issue for Democrats as it drives a wedge between the truly evil types like Spraydomiller and Kirsten Braun-Nielsen who want to torture brown people for real because they like it, as opposed to some idiotic poured concrete in empty desert favored only by an incoherent sack of processed cheese and his breathless followers

Nope. It's because she thinks Health Insurance is more important than keeping Mexicans out of the country. Again, priorities are different, doesn't make her hypocritical at all.

Lol, if he gets 5 billion now you think he's going to get the rest of it when the democrats run congress?

I mean, they were going to give Trump 25 billion for the wall and he declined because his cult started screaming "AMNESTY" so it really isn't their fault.

Says the guy that can't dispute the fact that Trump promised Mexico would pay for the wall.

    Look at this...

They are going to pay for the Wall...and enjoy it!

"Are you ready? We will build a GREAT wall along the southern border...and Mexico will pay for the wall...100 percent."

Why can't you dispute this Bobby? Why are you avoiding it?
