lol this would be too funny. and clippers already have like half of the rockets players from years past (trez, patbev, luc mah bootay, lou will)
That would be really nice. I wish Chriss and the GS 2020 second rounder could be enough to acquire Dedmon. Chriss needs to show something positive before the Feb 7th deadline. Holiday may be more difficult to acquire.
We don't play anyone as a traditional PF. So when thinking about that position you need to be thinking about long versatile 3 n D guys who are tough and can rebound. Hard to find! James Johnson does fit the bill - ugly contract though.
Morey is probably working the phones on the back up PF and other position possible acquisitions he is planning. One assumes the Rockets still shopping to trade Melo and Knight at some point. A James Johnson or Marvin Williams type would be solid adds to this team. Anthony Tolliver might help to but don't know if his level of play has fallen off or not. Give Morey credit despite some strike out with some acquisitions over that Rockets are still in the hunt with the Beard exploding, Capela beasting on the boards and the other guys playing hard and raising the level of play.
I didn't realize that Desmond was making 7.2 M. So that won't work. Fan favorite Nene plus Chriss will bring Houston closer to acquiring him capwise, if the Hawks will consider it. I love Nene, but I'm thinking about it.
Kenneth Faried played with great explosiveness against the Bucks with 21/10 and even a block. I didn't expect that at all. He is not going to be bought out.
Even if he was, he wouldn't be playing here because (a) he can't shoot the 3 and (b) he can't play C the way we need him to. There is no such thing as a non 3-pt shooting PF in our offensive system (which is number 1 in the NBA since benching Melo)
I don't know Tolliver's overall stats but he made five 3 pointers for 15 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 block in 30 minutes against GS yesterday. He has an expiring 5.7 M contract. Still productive at age of 33. I've always liked him. I don't think Minny will trade him to Houston.
Ok thanks. I am noticing Dedmon has been hitting threes, which means as you stated earlier he would be ideal for the Rockets system of play. Agreed that it is going to be a challenge to be able to trade for Dedmon or Tolliver.
Jeff Green, Jamychal Green, Markieff Morris, Bobby Portis are all expiring contracts and would do a great job for us at bench PF and small ball C. Dedmon, Reed, Kyle O'Quinn for a traditional backup C. Brook Lopez will be in great demand as a stretch C.
If he was dead serious about it then the next logical step would be to start a cult--errrr, a movement.
Ed Davis is our guy. On a cheap one year deal and is a great weekside defender and rebounds with the best of them. He can also play the 5. His range is Capela like but he doesn’t ask for the ball ever.
