    Kind of funny that trump and his defenders/supporters have decided to turn criticism of trump into criticism of the military troops.



    Facts always get in the way with trump...

    What are you talking about? I said trump is fair game. CNN criticizing the troops for the hats is what I was talking about. Drink some coffee and wake up.

    The criticisms I have seen are of trump politicizing his meeting with the troops including pitching his vanity wall, attacking Democrats and lying about pay raises. I have also seen criticisms of trump distributing his vanity red caps (doubt the PX had brand new hats for sale.. and why would they?).

    Where were the troops criticized?

    In the CNN video (page 1 about 2:20 into the video) posted in this thread, both guests criticized the troops and their leadership for bringing the hats. The lady says the pool reporters saw the troops bring in their own MAGA hats and that should not happen. I dont think it is a big deal but I am sure many will disagree.

    How is stating facts regarding military protocol attacking the troops?

    So if you say troops are not suppose to disobey orders, that's attacking the troops or stating facts? The fact is that while on duty service members are suppose to be apolitical. You don't serve a political party, you serve the country. And it's absolutely critical that a unit is not divided in any way shape or form. So that's why the military doesn't allow any kind of political paraphernalia and it's surprising these troops were allowed to do that.

    If you think it's ok, just imagine how you would feel if troops were having Obama sign "Yes We Can" shirts when he visited troops. I wouldn't be happy with that either. Anything that compromises our military forces from being a singular cohesive unit compromises our security.

    I said "take it easy" on the troops. I never said attacked the troops. I thought CNN was making it a bigger deal than it needed to be. Let them get their autographs. No harm in me and you disagreeing. Hope you are having a nice holiday.

    At work so can't watch videos, what did the guest say? And it was a guest, not the CNN host or news person? Or did the say "the military shouldn't wear trump maga hats? If true, doesn't really sound like much of an attack... and not even CNN. But I guess it deflects the converstaion away from what trump did... whatev's...

    I really didn't say they attacked the troops but they were critical of the troops bringing hats to get signed. I dont know who the guests were but one seemed to be affiliated with CNN but idk. He said it was against protocol and the commanders should look into it. The lady said it should have never happened and the soldiers should be disciplined. Acosta agreed it was inappropriate but in my eyes it really was a non-story other than an avenue to get in a few more shots at trump at the expense of getting a few troops in hot water.

    Seems they were saying the military should not be politicized and expressed surprise the troops did that, and that they imagine their commanders won't be happy. They said Trump should take responsibility for politicizing the military. They don't seem harsh at all. The CNN host even said isn't this just some guy with a hat in their locker taking a chance to get an autograph? What's the big deal? And he let the experts explain.

    I just think it's a shame that we can't have an educated discussion about what is appropriate for the military in terms of politics without it turning into "OMG them liberals are attacking our troops FOR SHAME!
