Hasn’t had a single season of his career with a positive defensive rpm or defensive box +/- And they aren’t just slightly negative they are near the bottom of the barrel negative on rpm among point guards
Yep.. he looks pretty darn good. His lateral quickness is good enough to stay in front of WB? You had me at hello. In a perfect world, he plays so well that we use our MLE on him.
Out of curiosity, why isn't Gary Clark getting PT anymore? He was signed to a guaranteed contract and has been in the dog house since?
Rivers just seems to be reflecting his environment. His career has been full of many unique challenges and circumstances. Even for the NBA world. I just feel like he will embrace our winning culture, mentality and goals. I have a funny feeling that he will come up big for us often.
Never liked him because he seemed to be riding Daddy's coattails to get into the league. Then, when no one really wanted him he ended up on Daddy's team. If he can make a name for himself here and win fans over, so be it. I'm game. We need all the playmakers we can get
I agree I mean he’s not a great player but is decent combo guard that at least try’s on Defense... really the kinda guy that you need as your 3-4 guard.
That’s exactly how I’m feeling. He seems to be less of a douchebag here. I guess he recognizes this might be his last chance in the NBA.
I cannot believe Austin Rivers saved the season.. This is hat happens when pair Harden with real NBA players..
You expect BBIQ from a Duke player. I would love his 3 PT shooting to be more reliable, but right now his best move is penetrating and dishing. He hustles on defense and fits in with his teammates. Gives the bench unit stability. We started pulling away when Harden rested after the 3rd. That's always welcome.
