This group of "terrorists" have suffered previously by unjust Turkish violence. This group of "terrorists" have been fighting ISIS so that our troops don't have to enter into the same combat that this group of "terrorists" do. That is a benefit to us. And yes, when we pledge to support them we need to uphold our agreement and not leave them to be slaughtered. It's fine if you don't like them, but if you want to have other groups willing to help the United States then it is important not to sell out and abandon other groups that have helped us. This is especially true in the battle against ISIS and other terrorist groups. Different tribal groups in Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan, the Philippines, Indonesia, or anywhere else can provide some of the best intel about these groups that exist. If they aren't willing to help us because they feel they will be abandoned, our nation is less safe. Furthermore, if we don't fight ISIS our nation is less safe. So if making the United States safer is an interesting priority to you, then that's okay.
We get it, you hate Trump. Before he took office, it was OH MY GOSH he is going to start nuclear war. Now its, but he didn't seek advice. Stop complaining......
Yes I'm sorry, a grave concern of someone who is so unhinged and refuses to listen to subject matter experts is making brash decisions. You think that type of concern is completely unwarranted with such an utter moron like Trump?
Trump is a loose cannon. I won't deny it. But what he did is something that most if not all have been calling for. It happened, so lets not complain about what it took to get there.
You are ignoring the fact that the violence goes both ways re: Turkey and Kurdish seperatists. Also you are totally wrong about safety. The entire reason we have so many terrorists is because our poor foreign policy has led to their creation. More war is not the answer buddy.
You are mistaken in your assumptions. 1. I'm not ignoring the violence both ways and already mentioned it. 2. I'm not wrong about safety and about the value of allies. 3. I'm not ignoring our foreign policy and the part it plays in making the U.S. a target for terrorism. But you are wrong to say that is the entire reason. Furthermore, we can't retroactively change our past foreign policy decisions. There seems little desire from our government to make the necessary changes to our foreign policy to put a halt to terrorism. That being said, it is wise to gather allies to help in gathering intel to prevent terrorist attacks. People who want to pull out of Syria in a different manner aren't asking for more war, buddy.
Every expert: ISIS isn’t defeated—-stupid stupid stupid to pull out. trump: ISIS is defeated I just don’t understand how his supporters believe anything. The man could be a pedophile and his supporters wouldn’t care. I’m a conservative and equally annoyed by the left for the record. @tmacfor35
ISIS is not a thing that matters regarding syria. They are in other countries. Should we invade those places? They will not be able to thrive in a strong Syria with Russian and Turkish troops present. Not to mention we will likely still give air support. ISIS holds 1 percent of their territory and are essentially not a huge threat on the conventional field of battle. Furthermore al queada exists still. Why? Because they move around and hide. We are not fighting an actual country so maintaining a constant presence in one place is expensive and will not work. We also had to make a choice. Let the kurds fester and build a nation on our key ally's border or allow Turks, who are our friends, to secure their border. The Turks do have value as a Top 10 military power and need to be taken into account. Allowing a kurdish state to form will push them to russia and china further and would be a huge strategic blunder. Also there are kurds throughout eastern Turkey who would hold insurection if they saw a state next door that could aid them and annex them. Turkey has been oft ignored in this but at the end of the day they are worth keeping as allies. There was always a looming day for the kurds and they knew it. What do your experts think? who are they? That is very vague and lacks principle. What are your beliefs and why do you hold them? It seems lazy to throw out an ethos argument. I can find experts who disagree with you but I do not need to because I am well enough versed on this. How do you know the experts you have faith in are not compromised by a need for power and money from the war industry? Tell your reasons if you believe something and give examples. That is just a recommendation if you want to be taken seriously in this discussion
Kurds in Turkey have much better living standards than those Kurds in Syria ,Iran or in self-governed Kurdstan in Iraq, the bar is low though when you're neighbouring dictatorships/apartheid surrounding regimes
Anyone that still supports Trump is an idiot that has allowed themselves to be conned. His supporters are traitors to this country, and when this is all over should be publicly shamed and branded for life. Merry Christmas y’all!!
To me, TDS is when an individual has 30+ years of being in the public limelight as a playboy crook who got where he was through daddy's money and zero individual merit, and an additional 2+ years being a complete moron as the manager of the world's largest bureaucracy and still believing the individual has some semblance of competency.
I’m going to treat this as sarcasm. He has basically ran a con ring while accomplishing what he promised the right in his election circle. Morally he makes people question their vote, but if you can dig through the weeds he has not been as bad as been portrayed on TV.
I wouldn’t necessarily say I’m a supporter at this time, due to being alarmed at how his inner circle is fleeing left and right. The left has a decent shot at ending his term after 4 years if they can get behind a candidate who isn’t as awful as Hilary.
