Both are issues, yes he could be a lesser cancer. They are pros but things could act up. That is a legit possibility. And he is not a consistent shooter, this team got many of them.
For a team that values the 3pt shot as much as we do, it's mindboggling how poorly we shoot the long shot. Gerald Green is our best shooter and he's probably not a top20 shooter in the NBA. Just once I'd like to see how someone like a JJ Reddick would look on this roster.
well actually its not..... we take all kind of bad 3pters.. we shoot 3s just for the sake of shooting it...the fact that 3pt is the most efficient shot doesnt mean it will go in 1 if you are tired, 2 if youre not in the rhytm, 3 if youre cold , 4 if its not your spot on the floor( eg top of the key vs corner 3 for pj) 5 if youre taking it 10 feet behind 3pt line(EG) 6 if youre well covered ie defender is closing in on you 7 if youre playing injured
It's literally all factored in, all those shots count. No one is deleting them from the stats. Every player's tired, non-rhythm, cold, sour-spot, distant, defended and injured shots are counted in their percentages. More importantly to your argument, no shooter thinks before a shot that it's not going in. No matter how tired, non-rhythm, cold, sour-spot, distant, defended and/or injured they might be. So to make the argument that if one of those things is happening then they should take a lower % shot, it's a situation that doesn't happen in real life. The next one is going in. You have to know that. And if it's going in, you better get 3 for it rather than 2.
Daryl is getting Dumber not Smarter. Bottom of the Trash Bin type of Low IQ Players he wants, I really lost respect for Daryl, does he not know, James Harden and Chris Paul absolutely hate Austin Rivers and Austin believes he is a Star Player, He is Too Cocky and Arrogant as they come, players in the NBA repeatedly mentioned this, Austin can hurt a Team Chemistry. Does Daryl Morey, Mike DAntoni believe in giving a Young G League a Young Talent a Real Chance. Many More Krappy Players Daryl has his eyes on. Nick Young, J.R Smith, Kentavious Caldwell Pope With many Failed Experiments Ryan Anderson, Carmelo Anthony, Dwight Howard, Jeremy Lin
I hope he will prove to be a pleasant surprise for us. I do acknowledge your points. I'm not sure about his behavior though.
People were begging for a 35 yr old SF from that same team Some of lamenting that we let a Rookie PG go to . . .that same team Hell some are made we shipped RYNO . . .. TO THAT SAME TEAM Rocket River
His first year with us was really good. He was routinely throwing up those 35 footer like nothing. I think that eventually broke him. Now he's done and cant shoot anymore apparently. Still Ryno was mostly just a standstill catch and shoot guy. I'm talking about someone like Kyle Korver or JJ Redick who can slither through screens and chuck up shots with minimal space. Green does that for us but he's not elite.
I think you will be pleasantly surprised. We gave up nothing for him. He fits our system and plays stingy defense. Who else could we have gotten this cheap that offers the same potential production? We have to put our personal feelings for him to the side. This was a smart and quality pickup for Morey considering our circumstances. He can become that backup pg everyone has asking for. We need quality depth and he provides it.
Meanwhile, the Rockets are 26th in points given up in the paint. But sure, sign a PG that the Suns (29th in points given up in the paint, btw) dropped...
