    in preseason so far he has improved a little especially in drawing fouls, but some of those shot selection remains scary

    Rudy Gay 40/8 on 19 shots with 0 turnovers. So far this season averaging 27.5 and 8.5 and outplaying Busty Durant and his 0-2 Oklahoma City Blunders.

    Don't star players usually make that superstar leap around season 3 or 4... isn't he on like season 9-10?

    I'm not saying he can't get better but I am say that we're probably witnessing his best years currently. Maybe he becomes a little better at scoring efficiently but he'll never reach that top tier of wing players.

    Rudy Gay is kind of like Monta Ellis in the sense that they both have the ability to get their shot off anytime they want due to their physical gifts (length/athleticism for Gay and speed/quickness for Ellis). They have always been streaky shooters. Its a matter of coaching and awareness to get the most out of them. I don't think Gay is all that but he is a useful player provided he is in the right role/system.

    In one of the more strange and extreme outlier seasons I can remember, Rudy Gay is having a crazy good year efficiency wise, especially when compared with the rest of his career.
