AWESOME, he can do anything EG can do(except that range ) and some things he can do even better than gordon
lol. It's just unusual to praise a signing of a guy who used to clash with your star player. But I guess Lance Stephenson is working in LA. Out of the minimal options out there, I'm good with trying out Rivers. Any word on what the contract is? EDIT: He was getting paid $12 in dead money by the Suns. Wonder if we got him at the minimum. If so I'm totally good with this.
Hmmm, I'm wondering if this homer deflection didn't work out so well before. The good ol' "hey, he didn't cost much, so who cares if he hurts our team?" argument...
I support this move, but something tells me it's going to end up a lot like how it ended with Melo. Does anyone know how Rivers holds up on the defensive end? It seems like he might not be horrible there.
Carter-Williams averaged 32.7 mpg his first three seasons and in year 4 still got 18.8 mpg. How is that a short leash? He was given maximal opportunity. Even last season with Charlotte he still got 16 mpg. Rivers on the other hand averaged 21 mpg his first three seasons, 2.5 of that was not playing with dad. He didn't play over 30 mpg until his last season with LAC when they had alot of injuries. Opportunity is not the difference between these two players One started off awful and got better at important skills for the NBA, the other started off better, though not good for an old rookie, but never got any better at important skills.
I’m not a fan of Austin Rivers, but I prefer playing him over MCW. (Just over 31% from three & 11% (Ast%) this season with Washington) Rivers has had better years.
He might not be shooting as well this year compared to the past but I like the odds of his 3 pt% going way up playing on this team with Harden. i say give the green light to Rivers and let him contribute. Go Rockets!
Yea this is good until Cp3 gets back. And good to know Cp3 is fine with the signing. He can get some points instead of trying to force MCW or knight into the rotation.
