percentages doesn't tell the whole story, i know the talent when i see it just as well as i know the beautiful girl when i see her...it doesn't take 100 games of tape to know a guy can play....
I feel we should not talk too much about a guy who won't be luved by the team and who will just be here for 60 or more games. I know I joke about him but he isn't really worth the seriousness. Leave it all out on the court, Rivers! I am out for now.
Well he can’t be worse than what Knight is giving us on the offensive end and he’s better defensively
@deb4rockets positive vibes will work as well as they did for Ryan Anderson, Joe Johnson & Carmelo Anthony.
He has a very quick first step and is in the 80th percentile for isolation plays. He's a bit of a brat off the court but he can soak up valuable minutes while CP3 heals up. We need to get CP3 down to ~30 minutes per game when he does come back, and I have absolutely zero faith in Knight playing meaningful minutes for us.
Thats relative. Not a MCW fan but he is was kept in a way shorter leash while rivers was given all the opportunities to succeed, and yet ended up to be a buyout kind of player. Knight and MCW could spell CP3 or in some ways cover his absence. But wed likely rather have the ball in hardens hands every minute if we could anyway so.. i still dont get it.
Hes going to score 25 pts on 6-9 shooting from 3 his first game and everyone is going to fall in love watch lol...
Knight still in training mode. Mcw is not able to get more than 10 points each game, but Austin rivers can. I think it is a very good sign for Houston
I think most of you will be pleasantly surprised with his defense as well. The Clips played him at SF fairly regularly last year (25% and 20% the past two years), and he demonstrated some defensive versatility. He'll fit well in our switching scheme.
Other than him being a prick I don't get the hate with this signing. He's a legit backup who averaged 15 PPG as a starter last year and is a decent defender.
Me too lol. The one thing that sticks out when this team plays vs. past seasons is the pace of play (at least to me). This team has gotten so much slower, and their athleticism, ability to hang with younger teams who like running up and down the floor, etc. are all so much worse than its been past seasons. There is a reason why Danuel House went from the G League to a starter in a matter of weeks and why Gary Clark is a better fit at this moment than Melo. Gerald Green is providing a lot more value than he has as well, partly because he has speed and athleticism (and not just his shot). We need guys with some speed who can dribble, defend okay, and spell Harden for a few possessions so that everything doesnt have to run through him. And I am convinced no matter how bad he is as a player, no matter how awful his personality, he cant be worse than what we're seeing out of Brandon Knight.
This means either Knight isn't as healthy or will be in the Rockets roster for long, or there's a possibility that Paul's injury is more severe than we are led to believe. Maybe the Rockets are planning on revamping their current roster and getting ready to trade some of our guards.
I hope it works out, no matter my distaste for Rivers. But Morey had a chance to sign similar player much earlier in Nick Young. And Young would not have had all the chemistry concerns.
