alright... if you want to continue... i wasnt gonna go into it... but ok... Yeh, McHale sucked - hence the 'McFail'... but he got canned bc he had the audacity to hold Harden accountable - by letting him cool his jets on the bench when he was in turnover mode in the playoffs... MDA aint bringing much to the table these days... We arent running an MDA offense - where's the pace, where's the motion, where's the quick easy buckets? We're runnin 3's and iso ... MDA has sold his soul to Moreyball - he's basically a figurehead at this point... ...and since you brought up the lack of mentioning defense regarding Melo - do we want to go there regarding MDA? lol and regarding his 'great relationship' with his stars - he's their b****... it's really easy to be everyones best friend when you just give everyone the green light to shoot, dont hold them accountable and throw the responsibility of defense onto someone else... his minute management sucks and his development of players sucks... MDA can be a really good offensive strategist - but we aint utilizing it - so why endure the deficiencies? and as far as 'caping for Melo'... I hate to see us waste any potential opportunity... and 10 reg season games (where harden missed 3 of those games) is not nearly enough time to acclimate a guy and try to find a way to utilize a 10 time all-star in a beneficial fashion... but hey, I guess you do what you gotta do when you gotta cut a deal to bring back your defense coach - bc your head coach is so lost regarding defense...
oh i believe if we can sneak into the playoffs healthy and rested we have a punchers chance of beating anybody - including the Warriors... but if we stumble in tired and beat up - we'll def get bumped out earlier - so why bother? Diversify and expand the rotation... either we develop guys and hit the playoffs rested and make a real run of it... or we miss the playoffs and hope the ping pong balls work in our favor...
knowing how to utilize proper minute management - to minimize the risk of injuries to key personnel and enter the post season healthy and rested? lol
exactly. the rockets need more talent, not a new coach. why is this so difficult to understand ? we have ONE STAR. exactly how good do you expect a team with one star to be ?
Wasn't a lot of ball movement in the 4th. Glad we got 2nd and 3rd chances because we needed them. Happy for the win though.
This is why I avoid the GARM when we lose. I already have to deal w the loss, I don’t want to have to deal w these threads
Alright some things here Mchale got canned cause he failed to connect with his players and ran a trash offense. We have been historically good on offense ever since he has been here. We dont need Dantoni's suns offense, he's catering to his players. The offense hasnt been the problem. We are number one in offense in the last 20 or so games, why dont you ever want to hold Bzedellick responsible bro. Its the defense and it has been for awhile. how do you know he doesnt hold them accountable, sure his stars yea he doesnt but the role players, you dont know that. Dont you think its unfair to complain about everyone disresepcting Melo and then disrespect Dantoni like that? And btw were the best team in the nba doing just that btw. Dantoni handled the offense and Jeff the defnse. His minute management could use some work yea. I get that that you wanna go in on him for player development but its not like we have a very large window of opportunity here, so yes he could be better with that, but he's in a hard predicament, but I think we'll see him use the young guys more while Paul is out. Okay, I just wanna say before Jeff came back, we were actually doing pretty good on defense and on a winning streak but when Jeff came back,.....welll it tanked. Im not saying its all his fault though, he's great and I trust him, I dont mind if you dont like Dantoni, but man give the guy a little credit....or some leeway haha.
Who was the assistant coach they were trying to hire before Bzdelik came back? Him. I'm sick of homers making excuses for the key components of this organization. If you're not willing to sacrifice any of them, then this team isn't going nowhere. The Warriors sacrificed Mark Jackson and DEFINITELY had to. You can't keep hoping that something goes right when something just isn't working.
You think it was him or just playing Chris Paul, Harden, Capela, Tucker, and Ariza (pretty talented players) extended minutes?
I dont think McHale was a good coach... and JBB was even worse... last season MDA had probably the best roster we've had in decades... and he finished 2 games deeper into the playoffs than McHale did... (WCF game 5 vs WCF game 7)... 2 games and McHale was a bufoon... MDA hasnt shown me he can deal with adversity or plan for the long run... (without going into his previous stints) 2 years ago ended with the infamous SAS meltdown.... with MDA and Harden sitting 2 seats apart and not talking as the season withered away... Where before game 6 he said that guys who questioned his short rotations "don't know what they're talking about" last year we lost LMM in a meaningless 2nd to last game of the season - and he was never the same upon returning... We didnt win a single game after CP3 went out to injury... Is he catering to his players - or Morey's game plan? Plus, he shouldnt be 'catering' to anybody... he should be adjusting his game plan to maximize his players strengths and get the best possible results... meaning long term results - not just regular season glory. He's just running Morey's analytic driven game plan... As far as Bzdelik... yeh, he's been a disappointment since returning... but MDA is the head coach. If he just wants to run the offense - fine, become an assistant coach and just run the offense. If you're the head coach - its all your responsibility. I've spent most of my career as a Store Manager... and in that role, I'm responsible for the actions and execution by my Assistant Managers - if they are lagging, it's my responsibility to correct it. Regarding accountability... I think he holds his minor role players accountable - he'll pull the chain on a guy if he starts to negatively affect his numbers... Clark plays well - until he hits a rough spot - then he gets relegated to the bench - same as Trez before... but the stars - no way. he's too afraid of getting 'McHaled'... I've given MDA credit as an offensive strategist - and I'd love to see him utilize that ability... make adjustments, find a way to utilize and develop guys - dont just run our best guys an inordinate amount of minutes in a predicatable offense... I never fault anybody for missing a shot or having an off game or being in slump... but i hold guys accountable for bad decision making or lack of effort... and as a coach - it's a position with a lot of decision making...
Okay cool, we agree there. We won 65 games, had a historic offense and took the GOAT team to 7 games, you cant just write that off as getting two more games in then Mchale. Harden is the person who makes this team go, if Harden was not playing well in game 6, there was noting that could have been done about it. Sure, Dantoni got outcoached(i guess) by Pop who had superior talent(2 all stars and great role players) as oppossed to our one all nba er and his role players. Yea the dudes were gassed and maybe he should have played Harrel a little more but that was not gonna be the difference between winning and losing that series. Also its not like Harrel wasnt a flawless player at the time either. His defense was suspect and his rebounding needed work. Again after CP got injured, we were facing the GOAT team, like i donno what you wanted him to do, tell our guys in one game to alter everything that had been working for them this season to just go..hey midrange guys, nah. I think its an unfair criticism. Both him and Morey follow the same philosophy. That's exactly what he is doing though? When Cp3 got here, did Dantoni stop him from taking Mid range no, did Dantoni tell him to speed up the pace, no. You know why, its cause Paul and Harden dont work well at break neck pace like that(well maybe they can, who knows). I mean yea, that's fair enough, you're right, if the defense is a problem, they should correct it more. But what I wills say is that the way were running it in the last 2 years has worked adequately. Cmon man, you really think he cares about numbers instead of winning games? Player development, he should be better with, yea I agree.
