This tells me the Lakers realize where they're at in regards to trading for AD. They're trying to convert Ingram to Ariza and a pick from Phoenix so they can take back Hill and still sign KD.

Lakers are ready to move Ingram for the highest available pick and a decent expiring contract. No doubt they'd love to have JR's deal to toy with the Pels at the deadline. We're not giving up picks right now without getting back a substantial star superstar level player. Maybe at the deadline.

I know you might be wont to say, "I've already covered this," but after being mesmerized by Harden's undressing of the Lakers last night ("thanks to the refs!" - Lakers troglodyte fans), I'm too lazy to go scrolling backward in these threads.

Which player(s) would fall into such a category of "substantial star superstar level player"?

Not surprised. Parker got demoted to "out of the rotation." Crazy for a huge dollar offseason FA signing. Chicago collects underwhelming PGs with Dunn and Payne. What is one more with Knight?

Parker's contract is useful because it has a "TEAM OPTION" for next season.

New idea for low cost contracts

    Rockets land Jaylen Brown/Rozier
Third team land Chriss/Nene/Rockets 2 unprotected picks
Third team send players to Celtics.

    Two teams will be exciting:
    Lakers land Ariza
Suns land a point guard and a draft pick, not taking overpaid contract

    Other parties will be sad
KCP does not have enough playing time
teams offer draft pick and a good point guard (Heat can Goran Dragic for a solid player)

My friend told me that this is a 6-team deal.

What's worse is he doesn't actually believe in trying on defense. So even if he was decent at it it won't matter. I'd send a hard pass on him and then send another hard pass on him.

Parker doesn't do anything for me as a player. BUT his "contract" is friendly. It has a TEAM OPTION for next season at 20M. It is a better contract than Knight's in terms of a trade asset.

    This is 3-team deal
    Cavs land Knight./rockets pick
    Rockets land Parker
    Bulls land JR/Rockets pick

Rockets need to offer more due to luxury tax, otherwise Bulls or Cavs turn down the deal.

Wow, that's a good one. I had no idea about that. I still would be leery going after him. Jabari's attitude is worse than Melo's. At least Melo tried to adjust to the team. Things changed when Clark was pushed ahead of him in the rotation. MDA tried to get two way production with that move. I didn't mind that at all, but I was unhappy that Melo couldn't get minutes as a small 5 on defense. He did bring versatility on offense, despite being a role player.

2 guys who can't stretch the floor at the same time. big no no for a rockets team. Not sure how people have not learned that is absolutely horrible when playing with harden/cp3. player wise he doesn't fit on this team. contract/asset wise as @Deuce has mentioned could be a piece if you're using knight as the trade piece and comparing the two

Milwaukee thrived once they got rid of Parker. Bulls made it about 2 months with Parker before wanting him gone.

Don't see how he helps us. Defensive liability.

i been wanting jabari for a while ever since i heard rumors he could be available. the kid is only 23 (!!), hes 6'8, can score AND can rebound. i think hed be a solid asset to our game. only problem is hes being paid $20 mil... idk if we can stomach that without hurting our strengths but i hope we can.
