Why would Trump ever do this when he can go the Nixon path of resigning and getting a full pardon?

This one gets me. Sure, it's on the jury to make judgments of the facts, and a guilty plea concedes on that part. But it is on the judge to make judgments on the law. By accepting even the indictment for campaign finance violation, the court is ruling that the arrangement, if proven, is illegal.

    Nice find.

    another perspective

"The walls have been “closing in” for so long, the media tells us constantly. Yet the American public is still left wondering whether this is all a manufactured smear story. If it’s not, Muller should present his evidence and close up shop already. The fact that he’s not is certainly suggestive."

Well said. I thought that Nixon was likely to be the worst president in my lifetime (and I've been around long enough to have voted against him), yet trump trumps him, in spades. What truly shocks me are the number of Americans who still believe everything that comes out of his mouth. They are a minority, but it's still shocking.

What also shocks me is the extent to which a major news organization (I may have to start putting news in quotes when mentioning them), Fox News, is so entirely in the bag for not only one political party, but for one individual, trump, who is now the leader of that party. A huge percentage of Republican trumpers watch Fox for their news, and nothing else. Think about that for a moment. I watch and read several different sources of news, including checking on Fox to see what they are up to. It wouldn't occur to me to be dependent on a single source, yet that's what millions are doing.

I'm thinking its probably time to change the title of this thread to: "Out of touch Republicans have no idea what an actual crime is."

Or Republicans do not care if their leader commits a crime. Laws are for the little people, not the rich and powerful, especially not when they agree with my world view.

If something is not illegal...as some are trying to argue...there is nothing to plead guilty to...

How hard is that to understand?

So no you are not only making up stuff that you possibly cannot know with the information that is currently out there, you are now taking it a step further and making up Mueller's motives.

    Fascinating.

No, not really "making stuff up" just coming to logical conclusions based on available information.

Funny that you could swap out "Republican" with "Democrat" and your statement would be every bit as true only it would be talking about those who voted for Hillary and supported laws only being for the little people and not applying to her.

When it comes down to it there's very little difference between Republican and Democrat.

A suggestion, sit back relax and enjoy the show. Mueller will tell us everything eventually, just have some patience. If there isn't any more really damaging details, he probably won't be impeached and everyone can decide what they want with Trump in 2020.

To a certain extend, but Democrats have shown that they have more sense of right/wrong than the current Republicans.

I'm basically giving the same advice to those masturbating furiously to every bit of news that comes out. I'm pretty much in "Wake me up when something serious happens" mode. A weak ass campaign finance case isn't something serious.

You trying to state Mueller's motives is absolutely "making stuff up." I bolded it my last post for convenience.

You seem to conflate facts/opinions/totally made up stuff/logical conclusions (aka guesses) rather easily. Sounds familiar to an individual, does one come to mind?

That's absolutely hilarious given who their last candidate for president was. I'd bet Republicans are as sure about their belief that they are morally superior as you are about your belief that you are morally superior and i find the whole thing to be pretty funny.

I see how you might think that. I'm sure in your mind Mueller is pure as the driven snow and I suppose that naive belief is just fine.

Yea, no. Don't think you can try and make up my motives as well.

    Ridiculous.
