Trade Chris Paul and his enormous contract while we can?

  1. yes, move him sooner than later; rebuild around Harden and Clint

They would have to have not watched him play this season and only be going off of you tube highlights to think they would be getting a superstar PG.

He is 29 and Paul is 33.

This is a salary dump trade, tho.

Would they give up Markkanen plus bad contracts for Paul though? Markkanen is blood young and is one of the best Euros.

First off, trading CP3 might be impossible considering his age and salary. More importantly, despite how things have unfolded to this point, the team is still not that far from contention. The core is intact and at times have absolutely dominated. The issue is the lack of wing depth, which has resulted in extended minutes for core players

The Suns are the first team in the shot clock era to be held under 10 points in the first quarter of back-to-back games (since 1954-55).

Rockets have 9 points wolves games and 11 points Jazz game back-to-back games

so james harden had one season of dwight playing like an all-star. will this be part two with cp3? there's always "playoff dwight/chris" though, right?

I'm fully aboard the PANIC AND TRADE CP3 NOW train. For almost anything. Obviously I don't want a worse contract (Wall) but if it gets us off a deal like his then I'm all for moving CP3.

I'd trade both CP and Harden for Kawhi and Lowry if kahwi is willing to stay with us in the long run..

I don't think it will be easy to trade CP3. I don't see any takers.

look, you aren't going to get anything in return that could potentially get Harden back to the WCF for Paul.

It'll either be a young player that isn't good enough that a team wants him or a bunch of bad short contracts.

You have to ride with CP3. That's the deal you made when you traded for him already capped out.

This is your core for at least another year or two.

Really, is that really sarcasm? Because his contract is bad, but the player is still borderline allstar, still good and declining.

Definitely trade him if you can. The problem is that Harden is 29 and it's an old 29. Especially with the way he sacrifices his body to get to the line. So I don't know if the Rockets have much time to rebuild around him. I'm hesitant to completely blow it up, but Harden would have so much value that Morey could net a ton of assets in return. Couple that with a high draft pick next summer and that would put the Rockets on a quick path to rebuilding within 2-3 years instead of being mired in mediocrity for that time frame with an aging CP3 and then having to go through a rebuild.

I just don't think this team can add a few pieces and recapture the magic they had a year ago. That was like lightning in a bottle and a lot of the vets they were relying on(CP3, Tucker, Green, Nene, EG) are on the decline.

how do you score 0 points in 34 minutes? and all that during one of the most important regular season games vs your rmain rival for the conference title?

I mean cmon youre a professional basketball player and you score 0 points? I am sure even MCW would score a point if he played 34 minutes

Don't think they would ever do it, but unfortunately that kind of makes sense. Hoping this team can somehow turn it around, but it makes last year hurt even more, as it seems it really was our season to be crowned and it ended in a ref travesty and missing shots left and right.
