No. Not talking about that 15-16 season of misery. I'm talking about Now of course we didn't win the championship last season but you won't find too many non believers here. We know we would have won it all with a healthy CP3 hammy. It doesn't matter now. It didn't matter in the middle of the 94/95 season. Blame whatever you want to blame on the horrible start. We have the nucleus of that same team last year and yet we are so different. We can't sit here and hope to be that exact same team we were last season just like the Rockets didn't sit around and wait for the 93/94 Rockets to show up in 95. They pulled the trigger on 2/15/95 and traded OT for Clyde. Even then, it didn't happen over night. They still only went 18-18 the rest of the games. Unfortunately were worse off than the 94/95 Rockets right now and we can't wait 2 more months to make a major move. We need it soon. We need cocky guys like Kenny Smith and Cassell. We need a guy who can overcome being shy about shooting the ball to becoming one of the most clutch big moment role players ever like Horry. I believe CP3 has the competitive fire in him like Hakeem had. I believe Tucker has that dog in him like Elie. I believe Harden like Drexler is as talented as anyone, but needs strong personalities around him. We might need to lose a player or two that we love, but we'll get over it. That '95 Rockets team pulled off the most improbable playoff run in NBA history as a 6th seed without homecourt in any round facing and beating the 4 best teams that season with some of the greatest players ever. I can get caught in the moment like most fans and lose my cool and ask for everyone to be traded or to tank for Zion, but **** THAT. Let's get some guys with some fight in them that want to win, because there's really only one option for the Houston Rockets. Win the whole ****in thing.
This isn’t anywhere like clutch city First of all The 90s uniforms were absolutely beautiful And our best player in the 90s was dominant on both ends
No similarities whatsoever. That team was coming off a championship and KNEW they had what it takes. This team has a bunch of guys who have gotten close, but have never experienced an actual championship run.
Seems to be a pattern. Rockets do great one season, then slump the next: https://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/HOU/
Lol I lived and remember the Clutch City days like it was yesterday. This is nowhere near that. This team and the league is completely different. Plus it helps when you have someone like Hakeem down low.
Well, the big difference is that team had the heart of a champion. This team doesnt even have a heart right now.
Yes we lost to the ponies before this season by 20. I am feeling like an all time low, the song describes it very well. We play just to lose when theres a two super max guy on the team, while the ponies have 0.
Hakeem alone was greater than CP and JH together. Nobody can convince me otherwise. Rudy T was a king of the city, he had more heart in his little finger than MDA. Now I think Morey is better than the old GM but seriously that group had chemistry thru the roof. In the old days you did not trade that much and you did not let key role players go that easily.
how qualified exactly you are for estimating if ppl have heart or not and how much of it they have? how you measure having the heart?
