This and a few other threads. I have a feeling that a lot of crow will be served up in a few months.

 

It seems so premature now in hindsight to assume we’d just get another shot at the WCF. Getting to the playoffs is no walk in the park. And with the defensive woes of this team, I’m not confident can be remedied with either time, the current personnel, or any “one” new player.

Knowing that we would have to compensate for the loss of certain players, my one hope coming into this season was that Capella might continue his ascent into a mightier paint force. But I think he’s being attacked so much on he defensive end (for our lack of defense) that he is actually hurting for stamina on the offensive end.

PJ tucker meanwhile also benefits from more spacing which isn’t nearly there as much this year.

In any event, there is a time to speak confidence and another time to be realist. The entire line going up to the GM can’t all be drinking the same Kool-Aid. And I think any modicum of objectivity has to saying “this team is fringe playoff team” at best.

 

The coach’s position is inherently a compromised one. No coach can instill confidence in his players while voicing negativity. Sure as heck not DAntoni.

The players though? Here u see a huge mix of ego that can range Demi silent confidence to overt arrogance that masks the on court insecurity. Honestly, for all the sound bytes I’m hearing. Ego is the most truthful. The others players comments are all self-delusional. And at some point people will realize that CP himself, while talented, has a massive ego himself that exceeds his worth on the floor.

Morey though is the one guy who, by position, is required to be the most objective in dispassionately evaluating this roster. If he even remotely thinks the “core” of this team is still championship caliber, I would say he is 100% misguided.

 

So basically, CP3 is saying to ignore the regular season. This ain’t gonna sit well with the Tillman. He needs all the revenue he can get.
I guess us fans can now sit back and relax until April 13.
