That guy can’t be being serious lol. He won our first World Series just a year ago. It’s so ridiculous it’s gotta be a poor attempt at comedy
ESPN’s recent article about trades they’d like to see happen at the Winter Meetings had one interesting idea: Schwarber to HOU for a pitcher like Cionel Perez or Valdez. They cited our need for a LH bat and DH. While I love Swarb (shoutout Hoosiers), he’s been pretty much been unplayable vs. RHP the last few years and is a liability in the field, even with him seriously trimming down last offseason. Maybe his regression comes up a little bit. A truly lethal hitter when he’s on. Maybe for another arm, but interesting suggestion nonetheless.
Schwarber would be a great get for a non top prospect. Team controlled ,hits RHP and entering what should be a players prime and a potential impact LH bat. I would take him over the ancient Nelson Cruz in a heartbeat if the prospect cost is low. He's likely a platoon player, but a DH tandem of him and White would be awesome. White could spend some time at 1B, and Schwarber could spend some (hopefully not much) time in LF. Most importantly it gives us offensive depth we need. He has a ton of shortcomings, but he has shown an ability to hit RHP well, and that's 75% of the league.
http://www.espn.com/mlb/player/splits/_/id/33712/type/batting3 I think you got it backwards. He is great vs RHP.
