Have I posted that before?... Regardless, it's true - he's not good defensively. The vast majority of his "good" plays are a product of him wildly misjudging the ball.
Nooooo ****. Goldy was always a dream but in the back of my head I was hoping for some Luhnow magic.. Aw well.....
Haha exactly. I'm glad we didn't overpay for 1 year of Goldy. If we only had Sig Mejdal and Elias still!
Off the cuff I’d say the equivalent would have been Fisher (Kelly), James (Weaver), Davis (Young), and Schroeder (comp pick). That’s a steep price. I’m sad they didn’t get him, but I’m ok with them not paying that price.
Very frustrating. Looks like Luhnow is dead set on standing pat and hoarding prospects. I think Goldy would have been our equivalent of JD to BOS last year. I especially loved Goldy because he's a hometowner. Oh well. Anyone know what the rough Astros equivalent would have been?
Hahaha that person on the previous page.... I'm anxious about the lack of movement but I trust the Astros have a plan in place.
Trust the damn process, y’all. We have a GM who won’t overpay. So what. It’s worked out for us in the past just fine...we’ll be okay. ILIT
They have plenty of time left. They made offers and teams over paid in the Astros estimation. Not the end of the day f the world. It is barely December.
I never really felt that Luhnow would pony up enough prospects for a one year rental. He has proven extremely averse to them. We shall see, Luhnow may be willing to let the offense start the season as is. See how Tucker and White do, and if Correa/Yuli bounce back. The offense as is could be awesome, but there are certainly legitimate things to be concerned about. He has earned the benefit of the doubt. Not to mention there is still a ton of offseason left.
I would have loved Goldschmidt but Luhnow wasn't giving up that sort of package for a rental, as y'all have said. Time to allocate those funds elsewhere (Cruz, another OF, and two SPs).
I wanted Goldschmidt, but that's a steep price. Unlike Morey, Luhnow has won championships. No reason to panic yet.
