    What asset?

I said straight up. Knight for JR.

JR has demanded a trade, multiple instances now, and has a ugly contract. They aren't getting assets or value.

No one is trading expirings for him. No one is trading 2nds for him.

Knight is about the best that could be acquired.

Would be pretty good to pickup Bazemore and Dedmon from the Hawks. Our garbage platter + 2019 pick saves them money and gets them a pick. Might work.

And our biggest moveable asset not named Eric Gordon..

Would be disappointed if all we end up with outa that is JR. Knights salary plus picks SHOULD get us bit more value.

Fair enough …. if you can get him straight up , I just don't see that happening. They'll want some compensation for the difference in contract cost next season.

The other issue is that Knight's contract is literally our only movable asset aside from EG …. I'd like to see a better return , even if coupled with picks.

Fournier is not a significant downgrade from Gordon. I like the deal

Why are they waiving him off before possible trade? I don't understand that. And he was looking better than Clark to be honest

btw we fell off a clip if we are even paying attention to guys that should be 12th spot on the roster but are playing 7th man here....

It's just guaranteed money for next year. Odds are they would not just cut him next year anyways and ultimately pay him 14m.

But for us it makes sense because we can reflip him as the same trade filler but if nothing materializes we can cut bait and save 11m next year.

Cleveland is in a different boat now.

Tbh, besides JR smith demanding a trade, his contract is likely a negative anyways. They would have to pay to move him.

They may actually see it as a positive to be able to trade JR without using an asset.

It's a typical trash for trash trade.

The article btw has been corrected, it now says there's no confirmation about whether it's because of a trade.

JR makes bad decisions in the 4th but he is still a serviceable scorer and shooter.

He still has this year and next year left on his contract (hefty price for a role player).

    Career 37.3% from long range.

Next year is only guaranteed at $3.8m. There is no chance any NBA team picks that up. He is a mostly-expiring contract.

Pops greatly regretted trading Scola to our guys. He was bitter, and said it made me spit whenever Scola schooled them.:)

Yup, I have to admit Scola was playing so much like an elite Spur would do.

    Luved it!

It's OK, we just need one more score.

    Morey has a plan.

Throw in the Prince as well and you got a deal.

    Chriss/Knight x Bazemore/Prince

Feels right since the Hawks have an over abundance of SF’s....5 are listed and that’s while listing Bazemore as SG.

I think it’s actually the opposite with JR. his contract is one of the few in the league where only a small amount is guaranteed for next year and that trigger date is like July 2 or 5 or something like that.

In other words... his contract would be more valuable than his play potentially, as you can send him to a team in desperate need of immediate cap space in the offseason.

Still... it wouldn’t be an exciting move for this season that’s for sure. Kind of blah

Knight of course (i was quoting another post), his salary (14.5) is enough to take back both Simmons (6) and Augustin (7).
