This season is on Morey. How did we know these free agent signings sucked and he didn't?

I don't think the current Collective Bargaining Agreement and its salary cap (and also luxury cap) limitations would allow for a billion dollar payroll.........

Do I believe our owner want to control costs? Absolutely, because what smart businessman wouldn't?
Do I believe that Paul's max deal was already set into motion when he opted into his last year to be traded to Houston, thereby making it a moot point on whether or not he shoudl have signed for less? I do and anyone that thinks otherwise needs to think in terms of reality.

    That being said, however,:

This is it right here. Morey, in my opinion, tried to outsmart everyone but only ended up outsmarting himself. There were plenty of quality vets that could have been signed to the same money as Melo, MCW and Ennis but we decided to go the other direction for some reason.

What other vets were out there? Morey went with people with size at their respective position that fit into our defensive switching system and Melo was a separate issue. Morey had to improvise once both our wing players wanted to get paid. Ariza + Ennis would have been fine.

Gordon’s scoring and efficiency is literally the worst in the league for someone with +200FGA.

Harden is walking back on his turnovers and is back to his bad defensive self.

    CP3 is injured again.

Capela has looked good but he can’t be everywhere at once on offensive.

If Jimmy Butler was traded here for those 4 1st Rd Picks, and Jimmy left, than the Rockets become a lottery team without those picks, becoming similar to the Nets having no Jayson Tatum, the Nets still don't have a Franchise Young Star, still a Lottery Team with no 1st Rd Picks.

Of course, but sometimes the constraints are just too much. Morey knows how to do the PR thing and I got a sneaky suspicion he knew this was an impromptu can kicking year once both of our wings left.

Jamal Crawford, David West, Richard Jefferson, Jordan Crawford, Andre Ingram, Nick Young, Jameer Nelson, Arron Afflalo, Ramon Sessions, Aaron Brooks, Shabazz Muhammad, Corey Brewer, Mario Chalmers, Joakim Noah, Mo Speights, Isaiah Whitehead, Trevor Booker were all available until the end of the summer.

And I couldn't even find a list of people who were signed after MCW that I could include.

I don't want most of those guys, but Michael Carter-Williams was better? And none of those guys could help our bottom-of-the-league bench?

Were any of those guys willing to sign a minimum year deal? I don’t think any of those players were worth a multi year deal. In hindsight I think Jamer Nelson would have been a decent 3rd PG but don’t see anyone there that would have us in a better situation. Maybe David West could play center?

As I said in a different reply to you it seemed Morey saw the future and decided to gamble/kick the can on a bunch of cheap deals.

Morey's Focus is all on Superstar or second round draft! He didn't understand how to organizer a team, his success free agent signing is only Ariza and PJ Tucker

I am so pissed that Morey never got us couple elite shooters while our system highly rely on three point shooting.
