This is not my forte, but I'll bite. It's all a bit of fun anyway. I'm trying to address multiple needs, including how damn old we are. We add wing defense and toughness with Justice. Depth and shooting at the wing with Ellington. Center depth and thiccness with O'Quinn A playable, quality guard in Tyus Jones. + Pickup a hopefully bought out Lopez from Chicago: We lose Gordon and picks, but perhaps the depth is worth the trade off. Capela/Lopez/O'Quinn/Hartenstein Tucker/Winslow Winslow/Ellington/Clarke Harden/Ellington/Green CP3/Jones/Knight I'm not on the pulse of every team, so I don't know which teams love their guys, or would trade them. I'm also comfy trading first rounders because we typically miss on those, and our window is limited
waiting on some new cool trade rumors like a bear waiting for spring......where art thou Burt Steele?
http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=yc2f8ro3 Not sure if a pick will be needed since we taking Waiters contract. Harden cp3 Justice PJ CC starting line-up. Waiter JJ GERALD HARTENSTEIN CLARK BACK UP
Knight+Nene or Chriss and 2 picks to Sacramento for Mason, McLemore.....in a prelude to another deal later.....
This common assumption on here that we can get a genuine talent (e.g. Otto Porter) for anything other than Eric Gordon with some first round picks is literally staggering.
Houston gets bazemore and Markieff Atlanta gets knight, nene, Chriss and hou1st Washington gets poythress Outlooks: Washington sheds 7m and gets 2m away from being under the luxury tax. One more minor move could get them below the luxury tax. This would be huge for a luxury team who's in the lottery and constantly underperform. Atlanta trades 2 yrs at 18m in baze with 2 yrs 18m in knight and nene while gaining a 1st for their trouble. Houston, even lottery protecting, seems to be a decent value 1st rd pick. Houston gets 2 good defenders who are capable 3pt shooters. This adds solid depth at 2 of our weakest points. Markieff as a backup 4/5 who can defend and stretch is absolutely needed. Could see him getting all backup 5 minutes and splitting backup 4 minutes. 20-25mpg would be huge for our putrid bench. Bazemore would add wing depth and wing defense. Undersized in comparison to say ariza, but still plenty capable of playing and earning the starting 3 spot. Another 20 to possibly 30mpg from baze would do wonders, especially if he starts, because it would push Ennis to a better suited bench role. It would also give Clark a well defined 'spot' backup 4 role and backup 3 in a pinch role. . . . Tl;dr - we add two 20-30mpg 3nD role players which would vastly improve our bench production while improving the starting lineup all for the cost of a 1st and an increased luxury tax bill.
[Iko] Houston is primarily focused on acquiring wing talent, sources said. Their trade market intensity last week, in the midst of their winning streak, was described by one source as “not in emergency mode, but not sitting back either.
Chriss + Future 2nd rd pick for Wayne Ellington Could also consider Knight + Chriss for Olynyk + Ellington + Future 1st (top-10 protected) to take on Olynyk's contract.
The Rockets have spoken to the Wizards about potential trades but no player has been involved in “deep discussions” yet. Iko speculates that Markieff Morris, Jeff Green, and Kelly Oubre Jr. would fit what Houston is looking for. Houston is also keeping an eye on the Cavaliers’ situation. Cleveland. J.R. Smith is currently on the trade block and the team could look to move other veterans before the trade deadline.
@Nook hear anything on Bulls Justin Holiday? Kelly Iko mentioned him as a potential target. 6'6" shooting wing. 41% from 3 on 7 attempts per game. And now KC Johnson says he could be had for a 2nd round pick. (Note: Rockets do not have their 2019 2nd rounder (Knicks)). What do you think the Bulls could realistically get in a trade for Justin Holiday for a team like the Rockets or Celtics? He has been our most reliable 3-point shooter and all I’ve heard is he’s a great locker room guy. Would it be worth it for a second-round pick or would you keep him until the end of the season? — Ben W., Chicago Now this is a more realistic trade scenario. Holiday has played lights out this season. He certainly has shown he could help a playoff team as a rotation player. Given that his contract is expiring, you’re not going to get much for him. But if you could get a second-round pick, you’d absolutely do it. As well as Holiday has played and as much as he’s valued by the organization, he doesn’t project to be on the team when the rebuild graduates to the next level. https://www.chicagotribune.com/spor...bag-zach-lavine-kris-dunn-20181128-story.html
Wow I was looking at holiday but didn't think he was worth a 1st but didn't think a 2nd would be enough. If this is true about his value via trade I'm all for it. Chriss isnt enough salary tho weirdly. It would have to be nene or chriss+filler. Also the earliest 2nd we have is in 2021. Not very valuable. Maybe you could do both 2021 and 2022 2nds. You could always expand the trade tho.
In Porter Jr Morris Satoransky Out EG BK Nene Chriss If we wait until Dec 15 add Melo. Then trade the second round pick for Holiday as mentioned in the recently posted article by Duece. This trade gives a very serviceable back up pg and adds major wing depth. Morris being able to log some back up mins at the 5 could be a bonus. If Morey can Holiday for a second rounder you do that deal yesterday. He is a rising commodity and can give you back up minutes at the 2 and the 3. I’m sure Morey would be able to find a playable back up big. I like the Robin Lopez idea if he does get bought out. I would hate to see EG go but it looks like we may have to in order to get the depth that we need. The trade portion works on trade machine. Any thoughts?
Justin Holiday is a near term target....... as is Jason Smith, McLemore, Satotsnsky, Baker, Beasley, stan, grob, patpat, muscala, thabo, delon, koq, ed,) as is Abrines....... and knight going out for a big like biyombo, Mahinmi, Mozhov, or possibly two players like Leur/langston, leo/mo cyber...where are you..? You should have this already.
The Bulls had an opportunity to trade Holiday at the deadline last year and they backed out. I can tell you that as of 10 days ago the Bulls didn’t want to trade him. The sense in Chicago is that the Bulls will move him this deadline but they don’t have a sense of urgency. Paxson is running the show and he isn’t easy to deal with and is notorious for not moving players until the last minute because he over values his players and then has to scramble to get what he can. Holiday is a favorite of Hoiberg and is playing a lot of minutes and has thrived. He has some limitations but would be a very good fit.
