2018-2019 NBA Predictions: Western Conference Playoff Teams

    The toughest thing for most basketball analysts, is trying to predict the Western Conference this year. While the Warriors clearly pose as the No 1 seed, there will be 13 teams competing for the No 2 Seed.

    A team's first 20 games are only a quarter of its season, but they can be pretty indicative of things to come. Over the last 15 (full) seasons, 92% of teams that had at least 12 wins went on to make the playoffs, while only 5% of teams with six or fewer wins turned things around and made the postseason.

    Read below for my take on the top eight!

    1) Warriors (58-24)
    2) Thunder (52-30)
    3) Memphis Grizzlies (51-31)
    4) Denver Nuggets (50-32)
    5) Blazers (50-32)
    6) Spurs (49-33)
    7) Rockets (48-34)
    8) Lakers (48-34)

    JUST missing the cut:
    Clippers 47-35
    Pelicans 47-35
    Jazz 47-35

    At this point, the Rockets haven't' proven they are a playoff team. They have no bench which is a huge problem that is not easily fixed in the midst of a season. My guess is that they will barely make the playoffs as projected above.

    Clippers really? They have convinced me the most, but just my 2 cents.

    Their style fits the regular season better than even Memphis. They prolly fail in the Playoffs.

    I have no idea about the Rockets.

    They could go from 2nd seed to 11-13th seed. Injuries, Inconsistent D and O, thin bench, Turnovers.

    wouldn’t surprise me at all...last season only HOU and GS won more than 50 games in the West...we’re struggling and GS hasn’t started off great by their standards, so 52 wins or somewhere around there could easily be enough for the 2 seed

    Honestly, the original poster is being a little bit Homer here. We as it stands now will not make the playoffs.

    I don't see how we would be able to turn this around with our current roster. All the new acquired players are ok at best, and most of them failed me to say the least.

    Capela has taken a step back since he got a not so happy contract.

    CP3 got paid and has been injury prone for the most part.

    Harden is Harden.

    Rest, I don't know. All been disappointing to some point except maybe that rookie.

    Rockets aren't a playoff team. They'd be lucky to get the 7th or 8th spot. The roster sucks. Especially if they can't beat the Cavs, Pistons and Wizards. 2 of those teams are tanking. Time isn't on our side with CP3 already sitting out games to to "rest"
