Yes, but it shouldn't be their only goal. They should be building a culture of hard work, maximum effort, team basketball. Right now, they are letting the team sink or swim with Trae, and they are sinking badly. Can't imagine that the other players on the team, young or old, are enjoying it much when they see Trae shooting 3ptrs from 30 feet and missing while everyone is comparing him as the next Steph Curry. Lin fans would care about the Hawks winning or losing if the Hawks cared.
They are sinking for Zion Lin fans don’t care about anything but Lin This is why your brothers came out like pus from a zit. He’s leading them in scoring but they losing by blowouts Perfect for getting the top pick Zion and Trae
You notice that Lin didn’t lead the Hawks in scoring and wasn’t playing at the end and they finally won Not a coincidence @Zboy
Yup...thank god for Bazemore! Young almost blew it with under a minute left, and they took him out too for the last play.
Young sucks IMHO he is great for hype and tanking but when Atlanta finally decides they want to win they need to move on from Mr. 38% FG.
Spin it all you want Lin played 21 minutes while Young played 30 They want Young to play through his growing pains Still no pressure on a team that’s clearly tanking for most of the season
Of course Young is getting more minutes. They are hyper focused on developing him. Lin is supposed to only be there to give Young a breather. I said before that I don’t expect Lin to get more than 15 minutes per game as they don’t have any plans for him other than maybe to trade him for more young pieces or draft picks before the all star game. Not sure what you think I’m spinning here.
Ok, sure...that is the Hawk's plan for Lin...to only use him when Young needs a rest. You are correct. And that is why I called it a negative situation for Lin...because he is capable of positively contributing to a team far beyond how they planned to use him. Hopefully he gets traded to a more positive situation. If I were to guess, I see him being traded to Orlando...
Since he's only playing minimal minutes, he's probably not doing anything to help the Hawks improve their draft position. I guess maybe by being a good soldier and not demanding more playing time, he's helping them do that...
he's getting good playing time, what we you thinking of? he becoming the starter ? like in New Jersey?
He’s averaging 18mpg, which is the lowest of his career. By comparison, he was getting 28mpg as a backup in Houston and 26mpg as a backup in Charlotte.
Lin has spent the vast majority of his career with you hoping to see him traded to a more positive situation. At what point does an Ivy Leaguer get a clue?
? I have only wished he would be traded from the Lakers and Atlanta. Loved his time with the Knicks, Rockets, Hornets and Nets. Honestly, my favorite team he was on was his first year with the Rockets...my wish back then was for McHale to be traded...
Early in the season it looked like Lin was toast. He's back to being a decent NBA player now, nice to see.
Understandable that he started the season slowly. He had only played part of one NBA game (before being injured) in the last 18 months prior to the start of the season...and even the rookies had summer league and such to stay in game shape.
