The good news is that EGO seems to be back!

The bad news is that the bench seems to be gone.

Without CP3 the Rockets are pretty limited in terms of the backcourt--I don't really trust MCW to be making big plays for the team (though you never know, he could improve.)

I get that everyone is frustrated, but the posters calling for Morey's head is unwarranted. Perhaps this offseason didn't go as planned, but he's one of the best GMs in the league, and I think Tilman sees that as well.

The thing is, this team's offense is built around CP3 and Harden, and when one of the cogs is gone, it throws the rotations into disarray. Though I also don't want to see 8-man rotations in November, it is what it is, and the Rockets are big boys who can overcome adversity.

BUT! this season isn't over yet. In fact, it's only about 1/4th of the way there. It might seem like a significant chunk, and it is, but it also means that there's far basketball to be played, moves to be made and ample time to adjust.

I really, really hate losses like this, but I'm still optimistic about this team. Maybe it's a coping mechanism to stay sane, but I think there's a light a the end of the tunnel.

What the hell happened to Morey's much vaunted flexibility?

Until this year, Morey set up the Rockets roster so that it was evenly constructed, with positive, easily tradeable assets up and down the line.

This year, only Harden, Capela, Tucker and Gordon have positive trade value, and by trading any of them, the team would be taking a step back.

Anyone else would require a draft pick to be attached to move them. I just can't see how he's going to get off of this horribly-built team. Our entire season should not be derailed by a couple of untimely injuries.

Is that on Morey - or is MDA and his 'only plays guys he trusts...' I've said forver that MDA needs to actually coach guys and put them on the floor to try to develop them...
Remember when Nene went down a couple years ago in the playoffs... did Trez get some burn? Nope... we expected Harden to cover Pau and LMA... leading to the infamous game 6 meltdown...

Sometimes an owner needs to step in.

Les wasn’t perfect, but in the past when the team was unacceptably bad, he stepped in and forced the GM to do something.

This is one of those times. I understand wanting a star, it gives us the best shot at a title. However this is getting absurd. Look how many unplayable “assets” are on the roster so the Rockets can trade for a star. Someone we signed hours ago was our 6th man tonight. The season is a quarter over and Harden/Paul/Tucker are playing way too large a role and too many minutes.

There are options out there right now that would instantly make us better but Morey won’t pull the trigger because he has a hope that a star emerges in trade. It isn’t happening soon and by game 40 it will be too damn late.

this is the only negative for me, i can live with missed shots and losses, but when i see back to back harden unforced turnovers i lose all the desire to watch the rockets

 

Remember when in 2015 we used to say we are going for that 8th seed to knock off and embarrass warriors in first round? Well they decided to try it just once more..this time it’s hapenning!!!

There is no "difference", look up how the salary cap works first before you complain.

The salary cap is around 90M, harden makes 28M, capela makes 18M, Tucker makes 7M, Gordon makes 15M, Scrubberson makes 20M.

The only "difference" you can have is 5M exception and vet mins. Just like any flat earther, you need to educate yourself before you start talking about stuff you don't understand.
