triple threat to jab step into a brick

    Who cares?

Stop glorifying that scrub. Anyone with sense knows Melo was a huge net negative. The fact that there are still people clamoring for this washed scrub is funny.

So your point is that Melo should have an equal length of the leash as guys like Harden, Paul, and Capela? Is that you main argument? If that is, I don't know what to say to enlighten you. You show how blind you are in defense of Melo.

    Just make it simple:
    1. When Harden, Paul, and Capela played together last season, we won a ton of games and lost very few.
    2. How did Melo play last season?
    3. How has Melo been playing all his career?
Conclusion: We KNOW what those three guys can do. You do NOT know what Melo can do after his New York days. What we know is his playing style his whole career and he has not shown that he is willing or able to change to fit the team, any team. And this is just the offensive side. The real reason that he was losing his minutes to a guy like Gary Clark was his defense. That, also was not going to change.

The three games when he scored more than 20 points, his +/- were -5, -17, and +3. Even when he was shooting well, he wasn't really helping the team win. Compare it with Gerald Green's +/- in the same three games: +8, -5, -9. GG is not a game changer either. But he is not worse than Melo in terms of helping or not helping the team win. And he is okay with his role.

It has been repeated so many time. If Melo would accept Green's role, he would still be with the team.

Brick? Nobody has been shooting well this season. The triple threat at least shows Melo is multi-dimensional, can drive, post up or pull up for a midrange jumper. That alone brings uncertainty to the defence and allows crinkles in the opponent's defence to appear while setting up good opportunities for teammates.

How many players in this league, nevertheless for the Veteran's Minimum, can actively operate out of a triple threat?

Melo's shot will go in as the season gets deeper and he gets acclimatised to the offence. Nobody on this team was shooting well during our struggles. Even now Gordon/Green/CP3 are not shooting well at all.

Melo is not a scrub. He will be a key difference maker in the playoffs when Harden goes on his drought on offence or completely messes up the team owing to careless turnovers like what we saw last night in Detroit. You are just either prejudiced or are simply delusional due to your bias against him.

yes, brick...Melo is way below average offensively

nobody cares about any triple threat when the end result is trash offense...I already showed u how much better we were when Melo was off the floor, but u completely ignored to continue this fantasy of Melo being anything but garbage and actually being useful on the floor when he isn’t

Uncertainty to the defense? Defenses are happy to see this scrub getting a lot of shots and touches. Teams aren’t worried about his garbage offense. Melo doesn’t set up anything for his teammates. He makes nobody better. He makes the team worse.

Melo’s shot will go in based on what? Nothing. Melo’s efficiency had been below average for the past 4 seasons before this one. Melo is what he is...a high volume, low efficiency chucker. He’s not magically gonna start having acceptable efficiency at 34.

CP3 is shooting 44% from the field and 38% from 3 on the season. Not shooting well at all? False. Green barely plays. Ego sucks offensively but is nowhere near the disaster Melo is defensively. When we were struggling mightily offensively and losing games, scrub Melo still managed to stand out as the biggest net negative on the team by far.

LMAO, u dare call someone delusional after posting that Melo could be a key difference maker in the playoffs? Melo is a huge liability in the playoffs. If you’re counting on Melo in the playoffs then you’re fcked. Guess who shot 38% from the field and 21% from 3 in last year’s playoffs and had the worst net rating and worst plus minus on his team by far during last year’s playoffs? Melo, the guy who would help us during a drought. Please catch up to 2018 and stop massively overrating scrub Melo.

If we get to game 7 with Ryan Anderson theres a 150% chance we do that AND some with Carmelo Anthony

    Defense
    Melo> Ryan Anderson

    Offense
    Melo>Ryan Anderson

    Rebounding
    Melo>Ryan Anderson

if you actually watched the games, there is no way you can blame melo for the poor start.

the turnaround DID NOT START after melo was released, it started IN BROOKLYN. melo was a net positive in the three game win streak. then had one bad game against OKC that really skewed his numbers. the other bad games were early on when the roster was not at full strength. he wasnt any worse than anyone else and the leaders of the team were playing like garbage. this is all BS. they did not release melo because of production. there was not enough time with a whole team to know how well this would work out. you are all blind if you cant see this was 100% about Bdzelik.

lol if anyone thinks green is a better player than melo. its not even close. i like him, but get real. i would much rather have melo shooting outside than him and he isnt a good defender either. melo at least is a good rebounder.

    Nope.

Because Ryan Anderson was perfectly fine sitting on the bench and not complaining about his reduced minutes.

While Melo, would have run away from the team long before that.

Besides they are both trash. Warriors would have destroyed both on defense.

lol..keep crying over Melo and try again.

I’m all ears for a solid explanation as to why his terrible on off numbers and net rating are what they are?

I’m not even trying to compare him to anyone on the roster. Just his numbers. Every single one that looks at points scored vs points given up with Melo on the floor are god awful.

Your whole post had zero evidence to refute the numbers that are available.

Again I’m all ears if you wanna break it down for us how the numbers are wrong.

To put it in perspective, either of two things happened:

    1) Morey, the master of numbers, saw how atrocious Melo was, and had no problem letting him go.

    2) Melo, did not want to accept reduced role and quit.

Neither of the two looks good for Melo lulz...

It is hilarious watching Melo fans whine and squirm when the reality says otherwise. I mean we are talking about Morey here. Why dont these people go and ask him for the reasoning?

Morey saw how much Melo sucked which is why he didnt even last 10 games here. That's how bad it looked to him.

Yea this post is a bunch baseless generalizations. You can't be trash on offense & average 14pts. Trash is somebody you purposely leave because they have no offensive skill set (ex Zhou Qi, MCW). Nobody's leaving off Carmelo for a whole NBA game

Melo fans resorting to blaming it on grudges lol, and they will now attack any player on the team who isn’t playing well because their beloved Melo got cut after 10 games

No, those are facts, you’re just not capable of refuting them.

Lmao, yes u can. A lot of u Melo fans are clueless. 13 points on 12 shots and 40% from the field is trash. U think it’s excellent because u place no value on efficiency. Keep crying over this scrub.

game 1.... james harden -23, blowout loss

game 2 WIN.... melo highest net rating on the team +23... harden AND cp3 played well, this is the key

game 3 cp3 suspended, melo team low -18, entire bench net negative, 3 point loss

game 4 MCW starts. melo with 22 points, -5....... eric gordon -18, lowest on the team, shoots 5-21

game 5, cp3 back, team low -26, shoots 3-13, 5 turnovers... melo 8-18, scores 24 points, rockets lose by 20

game 6, cp3 again lowest rating of -18, 6-19 shooting, harden is out with injury.

again, if you watched the games, there is no way you can put this on melo. whenever melo has a low rating, usually the stars on the team did also. no, the rockets were not getting killed because melo was on the floor. harden, cp3, gordon, are the guys who handle the ball, make plays, and shoot the most shots. when they are bad, the team is bad period

Exactly I'm no melo fan but the TEAM was playing like s***. How can people put so much blame on someone who was supposed to just give us offense if other people are off? Before his last 2 games, melo was avg ~16ppg on 45%fg and ~37% 3pt. Gordon is even less efficient than melo was and he's not getting nearly as much blame

A game +/- is not the same as net rating.

And again you aren’t addressing the facts....

    https://stats.nba.com/players/advan...9&SeasonType=Regular Season&TeamID=1610612745

I am not saying Melo is the only reason we lost games, but he absolutely over the entirety of his minutes was the worst guy we were playing other than MCW.

Context is key. He’s not even playing 10 minutes per game. Wouldn’t expect him to keep that rating up as a 30 minute guy.

Melo playing 30 minutes per game at -9 on the other hand is disastrous. Go look at the level of player in the -9 range. It’s not good

do you understand he would not be a -9 if we had a full, in shape roster to start the year ?

What exactly is fact what you posted?

    Carmelo thru 10 games:

    13.4pts 2pt 49% 3pt 32%

    Eric Gordon NOW:

    13.9pts 2pt 39% 3pt 24%

He was shooting BETTER than Eric Gordon from 3 & averaged a very efficient 49% from midrange. Please define scrub. Because judging by stats, Melo played better than EG
