The whole team is in a state of disarray, no one is really playing good. You have to look at his career and his career suggests he's player that can help us.
I dont think so because almost no one wants his contract and the teams that do(NO), cant outbid us. There have already been reports this year that the Wizards have everyone on the table for a trade. And they look terrible and it doesnt look like they want him.

How can New Orleans not outbid us? They offer a contract with 2 years remaining and their pick. Their pick is probably more valuable than our pick. And the rest is filler much like Knight is.

If New Orleans isn’t trading Randle then that pick won’t be much better than ours. They’ve got a pretty good team.

    @HP3 something like a
Solomon Hill/ Wesley Johnson/filler and lottery protected first round pick for Otto?

Biyombo/filler and top 10 protected for Otto?

Both would be better than our Knight/filler + one first round pick.

Who? What's the trade? Either way its our filler plus picks vs their filler plus pikcs and we can offer more picks.

I disagree about Charlotte. They’re not taking on as much contract as you think considering they’d be offloading Bismacks contract and Bismack doesn’t play. They want to win more games, and they’d figure it would be worth taking on Porter if we’re adding talent without losing any rotation pieces.

I didn’t say NO are offering more picks. Just saying if we each offer our pick they would take Pelicans. If both of us offer 2, they’re still take Pelicans, even if NO protects the second one. NO won’t offer three picks, but I don’t think I’d want Houston to either.

Its highly unlikely the enquire about Porter since its been reported they are interested in Beal. Jordan isnt gonna shell out for Otto Porter, especially if Kemba leaves. There haven been any reports which sate they have any interest in him.

The point is, NO wont even offer two(if thy even offer one). No one knows if Davis is leaving so it would be stupid for them to just offer two picks.

And if AD leaves, they are also stuck with Porter with no chance to rebuild.

You are so negative about our prospects maaaaaaan.

I agree. Didn’t Randle just have a triple double?

Portland could put any number of combinations together that would both cut their tax for this season, cut the obligation down to 2 years, and actually contribute.

Maybe you’re right. Maybe not. Who knows. And I wasn’t saying Charlotte will make that offer or New Orleans would, I was just saying Knight and our first can be beaten and I think would be. I don’t think 3 firsts could but I’m not sure we’d do that. Two firsts? Again, who knows. I should have reiterated that if it came down to it, Washington doesn’t have to trade Porter and probably wouldn’t if it meant a late pick or two.

That’s not being negative. That’s just me putting myself in Washington’s GM’s shoes.

No, I get where you are coming from. Also someone mentioned Portland and they could possibly outbid unless we add two picks. I dont think they want to keep Porter though cause they dont want to continue to pay a role player super star money.

Yea, I get you, my apologies, I just think this is one of our more realistic trade options is all. But I'm not sure if we would even offer the two picks for Porter.

Ive been thinking about Otto as a small ball stretch 4 in our system. He’s obviously not a “banger” but he can maintain where he has been over the last 2 years and average close 6.5 rebounds per game that may be good enough in short stretches. I worry about rebounding when we go small, but man the idea of having potentially PJ at the 5 with Porter at the 4 along side of CP,Beard, and EG could be amazing for short spurts. I’ve watched him a lot over the past couple of years (for daily fantasy purposes) and he is a better defender and rebounder than you would expect. He is not soft by any stretch.

The crazy thing as others have pointed out is that he shoots well from nearly every area on the floor. If this trade happens, I would have to trust that MDA, CP, Tuck ect could convince him to shoot even more. It’s like it’s an after thought for him sometimes. I have heard MDA say on several occasions that players should have the best offensive output of their careers if they buy into his system. If he put up career numbers here, this team would be scary. He has serious untapped potential. I love Brooks from his Rockets days but MDA’s system is light years ahead of Brooks system. Plus he hasn’t even reached his prime yet. We would hopefully be getting prime Otto over the next few years, which could be a great thing.

The price tag is the cause for pause, but if we don’t have to give any rotation players then it may be worth the gamble. It really would depend on how much MDA and Jeff B could “upgrade” him on both ends of the floor. A lot for Morey and Tillman to consider.

Beal, we cant get unless you wanna throw in Gordon and 4 picks. But ud have to play a small ball lineup a lot. Green not Satornsky(though I like him) are not as good as Porter. Green is like super inconsistent actually, that's been a thing since he got in the league.

otto is supposed to be good on D?

Scott Brooks went with Otto Porter Jr. and Kelly Oubre Jr. in the starting lineup for the first time this season. The lineup didn’t fare well to start — no one could guard Tobias Harris(?!). Otto Porter started before Kelly Oubre took over shortly after. He still found himself with 21 points to finish the half.

Tobias Harris is a good player though? I havent watched him extensively enough to talk about his defense. But most advanced stats show Otto as a net positive on the court and a relatively impactful player, dont you want someone like that on our squad?
