Harden and CP3 just need to quit running plays for the guy. No lobs. No passes through traffic on the fast break. Garbage points only from scrapping for every rebound and loose ball. Harden keeps thinking the guy can handle passes like Capela and he can't.
Interesting tidbit: Any guess as to who's leading the Rockets in Offrtg at 113.1? How about best Defrtg at 89.5?
This guy is good . I like his 3 point in warriors match which breaks warriors into pieces like a soft ****.
@aelliott Yes, I’m glad @Swapshop is not running the team Hartenstein on/off On: 117 mins.......120.4 team ORtg Off: 556 mins......110 team ORtg Opponents with Hartenstein on/off On: 117 mins.........100 opponents ORtg Off: 556 mins........116.6 opponents ORtg https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/h/harteis01/on-off/2019
@aelliott another tidbit Top 2 five-man units in positive points has Hartenstein in the lineup: +76.3.......Hartenstein/ CP3/ Gary Clark/ Ennis/ Eric Gordon +67.9.......Hartenstein/ CP3/ Gary Clar/ Tucker/ Eric Gordon Next closest is: +49.5........CP3/ Harden/ Gary Clark/ Tucker/ Capela https://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/HOU/2019/lineups/
The on off and +/- numbers are skewed at this point . Hartenstein is not one of the best players on the team . However , he is more than serviceable and at 20 has tons of room for improvement
No, but let’s not put him on the shelf either. Let him play. Capela started out with about 8 mins a game.
@Williamson cont’d from post #172 We all like Gary Clark and want to see him play. Gary Clark (18/19) season: 4.2 pts/gm......34% (FG%).........3.4 rebs......... minus 0.1 (+ / -) G6 in last 4 games.............: 5.8 pts/gm.....44.4% (FG%)......4.8 rebs......... plus 7.3 (+ / -)......24.9 mins /game Hartenstein (last 4 games)..: 4.0 pts/gm....50% (FG%).........3.5 rebs......... plus 13.3 (+ / -).....12.2 mins /game https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/h/harteis01/gamelog/2019 Let the kids play!! Capela wasn’t playing at max money when he started either.
Agree. Always support the team. But there is a lot of confusion in today's world about hate. For instance, when I say the Rockets aren't good enough to win a championship currently....many people take that as hating. Or when I say we need to trade Capela and Gordon...that's taken as hate. But it's not. The hate accusers are usually the haters.
Ha. I don't hate Capela. I'm happy the kid got his money. I'll use Morey's words. We're not the guys that pay the Capela's. We're the guys that find the Capela's. We need to deal Capela by the deadline. Because if we play the Warriors in the playoffs, they're going to exploit and expose him again for a second time. And then his trade value will turn negative and his contract will be a hangman's noose around the neck of our collective championship aspirations. We need to trade him to Minny, Miami, New York, Washington, New Orleans, or some other team (If there is one) that needs a starting center and perceives his contract as value. Turn him into young assets or use him, Gordon, and picks to get another superstar.
You realize that nobody is saying that he's one of our best players or that he should start? The point he was making is that there wasnt really a basis for saying that he sucks and should never play. He's had positive contributions.
It is really hard to gauge Capela’s value. Against everyone but the Warriors he is a beast, and worth every bit of his contract. Though we are trying to beat the Warriors. The problem is if we trade Capela we may not even make the playoffs and definitely won’t be close to a top seed to get the Home Court Advantage we would need. You can not just replace him with an average bum cuz no big in the league catches and finishes as well as Capela. His soft touch around the rim is money and he showed in the playoffs last year he plays up to competition by dominating some of the best bigs in the game. I’m actually hoping we don’t do much of anything. Because if KD leaves Golden State next year, we could win the championship as is. Capelas value rises next year if Warriors are no longer the juggernaut. Just need to develop our young guys and pick up a back up big.
Hartenstein is improving. Hopefully the film study is helping. He isn't guarding so tightly 35' away from the bucket against guards. His motor in short spurts is elite.
