Heh, personal insults aside (which lefties seem to love throwing, probably because their arguments lack merit), for an energy source to exist in the long term, it has to succeed in the marketplace. Fossil fuels do receive some tax breaks, but nothing like solar, or ethanol (various forms). You seem to be all right with subsidies. I'm not. Government spending needs to decrease, not increase. But, one good thing came out of all of this. At least you were triggered. Mission accomplished.
This is no longer true. Renewables are cost competitive without a subsidy in some markets today and are forecasted to become so in most of the US in the future given current trends.
As the graph above shows, your argument is done and dusted. By 2020, it will be even cheaper. Government spending on the right matters should not have limits. Less on defense would be great, though, as wars for resources are no longer as important as global sustainability. That relates directly to the economics of this nation and our kids. There's enough of a weapons stockpile to secure borders for the next 5 centuries, if the US is still a desirable place to live by then. Deteriorating soil conditions caused by excessive production and global warming hurts farmers , hurts our food and our kids quality of life. Btw - I have never in my life been accused of being a leftie. You have a need to put people in a narrow view to fit your manipulation techniques. Time will tell if you are the guy who sells drugs to kids because... "i got a family to feed" , or if you have the intelligence to do more with your life
