They are seeking asylum for discriminatory treatment in their home country but they also got it from other caravan members and locals as they traveled. They got it in Tijuana as people interviewed were upset they were in their town"

    that they are violent:

What they don't realize they will be treated just as bad in the US, and well, Trump is never going to let them into the US no matter what their reason is for seeking asylum. Trump would rather watch them in a public hanging in the front row.

    Link?

And you are 100% incorrect that these groups are treated worse in the US. Stop with the melodrama.

That statement simply isn't true. Transgender Americans have it far better here than in Honduras. As for what trump can do about asylum, that will be for the courts to decide.

Clever attempt by caravan supporters to frame opponents against illegal migrants as homophobic... nice try.

In the cities, but there is violence against transgender people in more rural areas and heavy discrimination. Whether it's worse or not is one thing, but it certainly isn't much improvement when you are forced to use the wrong bathroom and likely to be harassed.

They aren't illegal migrants - they are legally applying for asylum through the proper protocol.

Whoops, you just exposed your hate.

You don’t help people out by making up your own narrative and reality.

Again, SL 4 2, you underestimate how well the transgender community is adapting to the changing and far more tolerant trend that is happening primarily in the cities, as you point out, but also in the suburbs and the more progressive areas of rural America. Yes, there is a long way to go, and trump's blatant bigotry towards them, and the other minorities that are in far larger numbers, is an attempt to turn back the clock to the intolerant era some of us remember far too well, that dark time in our that history trump and so many of his followers yearn for, as much as they deny it.

Still, it doesn't compare to what the transgender community is subjected to in much of Central America. Beatings, ignored by the local authorities, as well death threats, and death threats carried out. They are constantly in danger in rural areas, and it can be just as bad in the towns and cities. In the States, transgender folks are legally changing their names to better reflect their gender, getting passports (!), and drivers licenses with the correct gender and name. This used to be impossible. You should do a little more research. Our kids, raised to be liberal and progressive in outlook, thank goodness, have good friends who are transgender, so we've come to know some of them very well.

They are people like the rest of us, with ambitions, dreams, and a drive to get a college education and high paying jobs, just like everyone else. Those Americans who are joined at trump's hip are a minority, as much as they would like to imagine otherwise, who deny their own bigotry and ignorance, eager to parrot the lies ground out by trump and his minions. Their young sons and daughters, as they grow up in a more tolerant future, will look at their family history during this dark time with shame and anger. In my humble opinion.
