Players tend to side with other players. And these guys are coming to Melo's defense with national media types wondering if the Rockets are scapegoating Melo. That isn't the case. It's a bad fit. Move on.
I was going more off of watching the games as in he has a shooters mentality and has shown to consistently takes the open 3 point shot without any hesitation when given the opportunity. Also, his form looks beautiful, certainly the percentage will trend upwards.
Yep. Of course it's not entirely Melo's fault. He's just not helping. It's not Gerald Green's fault that lead to the Rockets' slow start. He's just not helping. But when the coach bench Green for his poor shooting and bad defense, the GM doesn't have to talk to the media about it. Melo, however...
Bottom line: Harden & CP3 have been mediocre thus far and the Rockets have a record that reflects their play. CP3 has been suspended & flat awful at times. Harden got injured but is playing like he's satisfied after winning MVP. Capela got his money and came back with freaking blonde streak in his hair. These guys act like they won something last year and they are getting their asses whipped on the nightly! That ain't Melo it's the apathy shown by the 3 highest paid guys on the team!
I just hope everything is laid to rest today no matter what direction management/Melo decide to go and not have this thing drag out just like the Butler fiasco.
Everyone has looked like **** this season, we are simply bad from every level. I doubt this is management putting the blame on Melo, he hasn't really done anything wrong other than sucking like every other player on the roster.
Stephen Jackson might be right that Melo is better than 50 or 100 players in the NBA right now...but I'm also sure there are many playground legends across the nation over the past 3-4 decades that were better than players that were in the league. It's a system-driven league and, right now, there's not a system that Melo can be inserted into that allows him to chuck at his heart's content.
Perhaps when the Rockets found out they couldn't get Jimmy Butler, they had to pivot with their decision.
It's surprising how big of a deal the national media is making this. It's not like it's that summer lull where they only have baseball to talk about either. Carmelo at this point in his career is a 34-year-old role player on a vet min contract. Him not fitting on the Rockets is not a 30 for 30 story.
