    I lived in Austin when he was making his name by taping himself to the top of a telephone pole outside city hall or the state capital, protesting fingerprint scanning for ID purposes.

    We used to call his cable access show to clown him on air.

    I’ve always seen him as the glorified Wayne’s World joke of a cable access host he has always been.

    I used to stumble upon his cable access show during late night channel surfing and just laugh at his antics. Much like watching a slow moving trainwreck, I couldn't look away. You were watching a mad man. Not crazy. Mad.

    If I wanted to to listen to some late night craziness I preferred Art Bell.

    There is a fine line between ripping off the rubes and actually fomenting irrational political dissent. Jones is only slightly goofier than FAUX news, but the grift is just the same.
