Just waive him and move on, no need to drag along, sometimes it just doesn't work, not anyone's fault, like some marriage
While i swear i've never liked Melo, i was one of the guys that thought it was ok to try to get him at this point, i was hoping that at this stage of his career, playing in a solid enviroment with his friend etc, was going to help him grow up as a player...but eh, seems like you guys were right all along, there's no hope for Melo, just like Dwight, wasted talent. I was talking about Clark an hour ago, some players don't have the talent but they have other things that are more important, Melo is a great talent but he completely lacks the rest. And now i actually remember when we got him, i said something like "if Melo is going to fail here it means there's no hope for him", welp...
Surprised more people weren't annoyed seeing him yuck it up with former OKC teammates after the 1-11 game. I guess the guy that started the thread about this shot had already turned off his TV (which I thought was innocuous): Spoiler Kmart played two more games for Houston after his version of the "Toronto game"
So what is this, are we cutting him, does he not want to play for us anymore or what? And please no one give me that mutual break up stuff please haha.
You're delusional. The Rockets next game is Tuesday, and he's already been ruled out. Every game he doesn't play the more this'll be a spectacle. Morey knows this but holds a press conference knowing they're in the process of releasing him? The Rockets need a press conference on why their superstars can't make their layups consistently, not on Melo
Artest is beloved here. We didn't try to re-sign him because it was a rebuild year, and he left in amiable terms. The only silly thing he did was not being able to fill in for Deke, Yao, and Tracy at all once.
Ok nvm forget what I said. "However, one source said both sides entered into the agreement "with eyes wide open," understanding that the plug could be pulled if Anthony proved not to be a good fit. The Rockets have a net rating of 11.1 points per 100 possessions when Anthony isn't on the floor than when he plays, according to NBA.com stats." Alright so imma just say that....holy crap, 11.1 points is tied with the Warriors.....wow. Im sure that stat is not the whole story thought.
Why wouldn’t you. Get rid of all the bad fits. A rookie is contributing more than he is. He’s far from some irreplaceable player on this roster.
Also, you guys gotta stop blaming Morey so much, we dont know how much Morey wanted him this off season, it was also reported that CP was heavily involved in pushing for Melo on the roster.
This has Lebron written all over it. Lebron called Melo told him to leave rockets. This is all Lebron
Sure but in order to have players like harden you have to pay the super max. Curry didn’t take a pay cut. KD won’t stay if he has to take a pay cut again. Same goes for klay and green. These guys want to win but there is life after basketball and these guys need to get the most money they can. It’s a lot of money to ppl like me and you but harden and ten truly elite are not normal ppl then happen to be 10 of the best ppl on earth that can play this game. Now cp3 I agree he should have taken a pay cut cause he is def hindering the team going forward. But I can’t say the same about harden. We’re lucky he agreed to sign for 6 years at that money and not even test FA. Most players don’t do that if they haven’t won a chip with said team.
My guess is the Rockets told him he would start getting DNP’s and offered to cut him if that was not okay with him.
