When they missed so many shots against the Spurs, it was because they couldn't get the fear of Melo out of their heads?
I mean, the thread is merely announcing Morey is going to talk to the media. He did. There's a video of it on page 2, or so, right. That's it. Thread delivered by giving us Morey's media interview.
yup. That's why Morey had a press conference just on Melo. It was screwing up with the team so badly that Morey had no choice but to tell everyone that Melo's role is going to be reduced. Players go out and then performed like last year
Melo still has a role on this team. He won us the nets game. It’s all about him buying into his role and being a team player. It’s on him to stay imo. The team is down either way but he has to accept his role. And that role is off the bench. Some game he might get 10 min some games he might get 30.
I don't think Melo can accept this kind of role. It's tough to accept that you aren't as good as you once were. I think for Melo's sake, he should contemplate retirement. Look at Allen Iverson, his last season he couldn't accept that he was a role player and instead laced them up.
U might me right I hope your wrong I like Melo and truly think he can help us if he buys in. Imagine him being part of the team when we play like tonight. He would be good for 3-4 threes imo with this pace and rhythm. It’s up to Melo.
I'm with you. I'd love for things to work out. Melo is a great offensive talent and if he could accept that some nights he might not play as much as others, that would make him so valuable to our team. I'm not optimistic though. Just the fact that something is going on behind the scenes already makes me sees flashing red lights.
Morey is protecting the TEAM's reputation around the league, protecting players. I expect Melo to ask for a release and the Rockets to say, we are doing this because Melo wants to be closer to his family or some such thing. DD
This just shows you why Melo IS NOT A VET MIN player. Why does the GM need to talk to the media about a vet min guy's role and the possibility of cutting him? Heck, last season when a 20M guy was benched, nobody generated any news drama about it. Stop the nonsense that Carmelo Anthony is "just a vet min guy."
All those people saying that he is on a vet min contract and what could possibly go wrong... Daryl Morey is scheduling an impromptu media interview to save face and protect the team. That was nothing but damage control. All for a vet minimum player... Let that sink in.
