I was at the game tonight. The Pacers equivalent of Red Rowdies were chanting “Who is this guy” anytime he made a play. And.....for the record, they are not even on the same planet as the Rowdies. The chants and game day gear are weak sauce over there in the Fieldhouse.
Fake news. His degree is in criminal justice. http://www.seniorclassaward.com/athletes/gary_clark/ Like @Daddy Long Legs said, No. He will be starting over Ennis by the All Star break.
Maybe i'm wrong but i don't think he is quick enough to start at the 3, i see him more as a 4 ala Draymond. Ennis is a legit 3 but eh, while i like that James plays with a lot of energy, he seems to be kinda out of control with his body too much for his role (not for the spot), sometimes reminds me a bit of Brewer for this, Clark on the other end plays more under control, he has better instincts in pretty much all the defensive situations, better understanding of the game...i still can't believe he went undrafted.
Definitely too slow laterally to primarily be defending wings. I see him as a 4; not sure I ever see him as a starter.
Go and look at Gary's highlights at Cincinnati.. They were not sexy at all. It's a highlight reel of the right plays and no flash. Couldn't even finish I was so bored, lol.
I guess it depends on how he's going to develop, probably not much upside left, but Draymond for example didn't have much upside either, he just got a lot of confidence, worked on his body and turned out to be a good passer...aside for the last one which was kinda unexpected for Draymond i think, Clark has room to develop as a player. Of course i'm not saying he'll ever be as good as Draymond or close to him but, you can be a very good/important player even if you don't have much talent, and after all, having good iq, understanding of the game etc is a talent, Clark seems to be pretty solid in this regard. I wouldn't be shocked if someday he'll start like PJ.
His stats aren’t sexy but he’s just a positive when he’s on the court and imo his release on his shot has legit 40% 3 point potential. I think he would clearly get development minutes on the warriors and that’s saying a lot imo.
what i'm saying is. Your starting 5 you have mostly your stars, but players can get their minutes coming off the bench as well. It is a lot different playing against starters than back ups
