Hear me out... We attempt the most 3s per game in the NBA (41.9 per game). We currently only have 3 guys on our entire team that can shoot at 40% or better from there...Harden, Tucker, and Ennis. Everyone else has been pure trash from the perimeter thru the first 1/8th of the season. In my opinion, this is the main culprit of why we suck. I'm sick of it. Here are 3 players that are either known to be on the trade block or currently a free agent... Kyle Korver - last 3 seasons from corner three (138 out of 283 = 49%) JR Smith - last 3 seasons from corner three (155 out of 337 = 46%) Nick Young - last 3 seasons from corner three (96 out of 241 = 40%). He is a free agent. Step 1: Sign Nick Young. Step 2: Trade Knight, Chriss, Hartenstein, and a pick for Korver and Smith. Go with a rotation of... Paul (creator) Harden (creator & over 40% from 3) Ennis (over 40%from corner 3) Tucker (over 40% from corner 3) Capela (rebounder) Gordon (creator) JR Smith (over 40% from corner 3) Korver (over 40% from corner 3) Young (over 40% from corner 3) Clark (rebounder; Clint's backup) Melo, MCW, and Green don't fit, sorry. NOW, shoot 41.9 threes per game with this squad. Good luck trying to stop it. Just a thought.
Your grouping all three's together .... which is a mistake . Those guys don't shoot 40% on every type of three . We take a lot of threes that other teams don't take . Also None of those guys play defense
Korver can shoot it anywhere from three. He would have the green light. The other 2 should probably stick to the corner. Last 3 season of opponents fg% against JR Smith... 2018-19 = 48.4% good 2017-18 = 47.5% great 2016-17 = 44.3% elite Opponents vs Korver 2018-19 = 56.9% bad 2017-18 = 45.3% elite 2016-17 = 49.0% average Opponents vs Young 2017-18 = 49.1% average 2016-17 = 51.1% average So, two of them are average defenders. One of them is a very good defender.
Yea we need shooters. And chriss MCW and Hartestein can’t shoot. Our bench is horrendous they don’t give us anything. Every time we go to the bench we lose any kind of lead or the game gets out of hand. Aside from cp3, Melo, Gordon and green terrible shooting we got Capela who is missing easy layups or is doing a bad job rolling. That’s just in the offense side of things. If we could fix our offense just by adding some depth in our bench some much needed shooters like nick, Korver or jr Smith we wouldn’t suffer so much. This players are there and we could make some space to get them. Or any one beside what we have right now. i would even be open to trading Eric or Capela if it’s the right kind of player that would fit and help us
Smh...we lost another game where we shot 41 threes and only hit 9 of them. 9 out of 41 on threes...pathetic. A three point shooting team that can't shoot...lol. My suggestion of adding 40 percent shooters makes so much sense and it would be easy to get Smith, Korver, and Young.
Reputation as a goof ball. But, he looked fine last year on the Warriors coming off the bench and winning a ring. He can shoot the corner three well. That's all I care about.
