I think there have been problems with... was it Broward County for years. Someone who wanted to see the votes was charged tens of thousands of dollars and had to get lawyers to get the price lowered, and finally, when he went to see the votes, they had all been destroyed by the person who was running it. This was that Snipes woman who did that. It has been corrupt and horribly run for years. Our right to vote is the one real chance to make our voice count. That needs to be protected for everyone.
@NewRoxFan is trying to distract everyone from what's happening in Florida. How much is DNC is paying you to shill on here?
I haven't seen actual proof that that has happened. It is possible because its Florida. But I will wait until that has been verified.
Biggest gain now in the house for Dems since 1974. Larger than I expected. Not looking very puddle like with more of the votes counted. Interesting.
Dems also cleaned up in state elections. If Sinema holds on to her lead then really all the Dems failed to do was capture the Senate, which was always a prayer anyway.
It's no wonder Republicans are scared of losing power and need to suppress cuts off minorites. This attack on the election by Republicans to prevent votes from being counted is Repugnant
Considering how many more seats the republican senate has to defend in 2020 as opposed to this election, they have every reason to be terrified.
Also, the GOP Senator Collins seat is up for grabs in 2020. If she's going to run for reelection I imagine her being a swing vote that will swing a lot more left now that her seat is on the line. I guess we'll see.
The Washington Examiner (let's not forget how right-wing this site is) has reported that the GOP Florida State Department sees no evidence of criminal wrongdoing in the vote contradicting Scott's unsubstantiated claims https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/...oward-county-despite-rick-scotts-fraud-claims Just goes to show how far Scott is willing to go to manipulate the result. He claims fraud when his own office contradicts him.
Yeah, it wasn't looking good on election night. There was a lot of doom and gloom, but it looks like there was a wave at the lower level.
It might be too late for her. I think the Kavanaugh vote and rhetoric from her might have been the last straw for a lot of folks. Maine just elected a Democratic Governor. It is too early to even make predictions though. Anything could happen. I think the biggest tell will actually be the Democratic presidential candidate. If they have someone who is inspirational and not just the lesser of two evils it will make a difference. If voters are actually excited to vote FOR the Democratic candidate that will drive up turnout with people who will be more inclined to vote Collins out of others. The same will be true in all of the other Senate and house races.
I think Collins is going to be history in 2020. She'll either "retire," lose in the primary, or run and lose to a Democrat or an independent, in my humble opinion. Kavanaugh was the last straw. Teetering on the "fence" and then voting to confirm him put paid to the idea that she was a strong supporter of women's rights. She is not, and the people of Maine, particularly the women of that state, will make sure she gets the message, one way or another.
steve king, who Iowan republicans re-elected this midterm, referred to immigrants as dirt, as reported by conservative magazine The Weekly Standard. King denited hs said it, called the reporter and TWS liars. TWS has now provided the recording... proving that steve king is both a racist and a liar. https://www.weeklystandard.com/stephen-f-hayes/a-note-on-steve-king
