knowing how much danny ainge loves his draft picks... maybe we can trade those 4 picks for either jaylen brown or gordon hayward? they have a logjam at the 3 and seems like one of them has to go - they've got some problems defending 4s and 5s when all 3 of tatum, brown, and hayward share the court and ainge looks hellbent on keeping tatum. it ain't like the celtics are doing too well either right now and it could be addition by subtraction to fix some of their lineup issues.
Watching this season Toronto is the one team that could actually beat the warriors. Their length and defense is insane. Plus Kawhi and Danny Green give them championship experience. I wouldn’t sleep on the raptors. They can play big and go small. That team is soo versatile.
Beal would cost so much more. Probably EG and 4 picks, but I'm pretty sure there are better offers out there. Maybe WASH is high Capela? but I doubt it. Maybe EG & Capela?
Yes 4 first round picks for Gordon Hayward and a billion dollars owed to Chris Paul. Sounds like the Rockets are going to suck until about the year 2032.
https://www.hoopsrumors.com/2018/11...e-request-minutes-restriction-negativity.html On hating to lose: “I absolutely hate, hate to f*****g lose, and the way that we go about things sometimes isn’t the right way, myself included, and a lot of other people as well. I just think that, man, whenever you win, everything takes care of itself. But we’ve got to figure out a way to do that, man. No matter what, all I want to do is win. I don’t care what anybody says, any media outlet, anybody says as a person, the one thing they can’t say is that I don’t want to win.” On whether he’s focused on being traded: “Like I said, I don’t focus on it. I really don’t. If it happens, if something happens, something happens. If it don’t, I’ve still got to go out there and prove that I can hang with the best of them. That’s what I do every time I take the floor. I dap somebody up, and it’s like, ‘Yo, let’s battle tonight.'” On whether or not negative backlash impacts him: “Hell no. For what? I know who I am. These guys know who I am. If you know me, then you know the truth. If you don’t, then you write something for people to read. That’s why I laugh at everything that somebody tells me, ‘Did you read this? Did you read that?’ No, I don’t read it. Why don’t I read it? I don’t even have the time to read it, but if I did I wouldn’t because if you didn’t talk to me to write something, you’re just making stuff up. You’re going by what you think, what you’re assuming. I leave it at that. Read it. Believe what you want. But at the end of the day, if you’ve got a real question then just come up and ask me and see who I am as a person.” On if he agreed to play a certain amount of minutes: “Once again, nobody talked to me about nothing. That’s just stuff that’s being written. I haven’t talked about minutes with nobody. I just go out there and I just play. I get lost in the game, and I want to win, and I don’t even realize that it turns into 41. I wouldn’t realize if it was 48 because I’m just out there and I’m competing.” On his prior comments that he shouldn’t have to play excessive minutes: “Yeah, we’ve got f*****g guys who can play. We’ve got to instill confidence in everybody. I think my confidence is high enough. I want all my guys to be successful, man. I want all these guys to play. Is that a convo (with Thibodeau) that I’ve got to have? Yeah, and then everybody wants to talk about how the m**********r’s not healthy [he said of himself]. Well G**damn, we’re playing 41, 43, 44 (minutes per game), it takes a toll on top of all the work that I do that don’t nobody even see. We’ll fix it. We’ll do something. We’ll talk.”________________________________________________ Jimmy Butler: I mean, all and all, I don’t think about (the trade request situation). I don’t worry about it. I do the same thing every day. I hang around the same people every day. I read my books. I read my Bible. I listen to my country music. I throw in a little bit of hip-hop, man, but this **** does not change. I do what I do every single day. I’m in the gym in the night. I’m in there in the morning. I’m not worried about basketball. Basketball is going to come around. We’re going to figure this thing out. I don’t think about the outside noise, what’s really going on. I mean, whenever that time comes, that time comes. You sound like a guy who plans on being here for a while, as far as this season goes, and plans on trying to turn this thing around. Is there part of you that has maybe given up the idea that they’re going to actually move you? Jimmy Butler: Like I said, I don’t focus on it. I really don’t. If it happens, if something happens, something happens. If it don’t, I’ve still got to go out there and prove that I can hang with the best of them. That’s what I do every time I take the floor. I dap somebody up, and it’s like, ‘Yo, let’s battle tonight.’ You played 41 minutes tonight… Jimmy Butler: That **** has to stop. Why? Jimmy Butler: We’ve got ****ing 14 other guys. “I absolutely hate — hate to ****ing lose, and the way that we go about things sometimes isn’t the right way, myself included, and a lot of other people as well. I just think that, man, whenever you win, everything takes care of itself. But we’ve got to figure out a way to do that, man. No matter what, all I want to do is win. I don’t care what anybody says, any media outlet, anybody says as a person, the one thing they can’t say is that I don’t want to win.” How about you and KAT? Jimmy Butler: Me and KAT are cool. I ain’t got a problem with KAT. Don’t nobody got a problem with nobody, I’m telling you. Everything ain’t what it seems. A few moments later, Jimmy Butler finished changing and was asked if he agreed with Rose’s assessment – that the Wolves needed more self-criticism. Butler didn’t mince words. “Do I agree with it? Yeah. But I don’t think everybody can handle it,” Butler said. “I don’t. I know actually. But I’m with him on it. … Everybody got to talk to one another and be able to handle it if somebody says something they may not like. We’re all grown men.” Christopher Hine: Jimmy Butler: “As a team we do a lot of talking (about defense and rebounding) and we’re not going out there and doing what we’re supposed to be doing. We talk about it during the game, before the game, damn sure the same thing after the game.” “It’s about understanding one another and having that chemistry where you could give someone good or bad criticism,” Rose said. “There’s nothing wrong with coming up to your teammates, tapping them when he’s doing something wrong, doing something right and vice versa.”
Jimmy says that stuff, but then goes in circles and wants to play to win the games and thus more minutes. So IDK. That was a good interview from Amick. And good follow up questions. But what I really take from it, is that Butler IS NOT forcing any trades. And that then reinforces the Wolves to "stay the course." The Wolves DO have a HARD DEADLINE. But that is FEB 7th, the Trade Deadline. Are you telling me they are going to wait THAT LONG to make a deal? Because that is the way it is trending right now. Team record be damned.
Right. Thibodeau is in no hurry obviously; and seems he would prefer not to trade Butler at all. The Rockets cannot continue in a holding pattern until February 7th. By that time, if all this continues as is, we’ll be clawing just to get an 8th or 7th seed.
Jimmy Butler: “I’m just a humble man. I sleep in the arena so that I can practice more and I play so hard that I physically cannot make it off the arena hardwood so they just throw me a blanket to sleep and I shower out of a Gatorade bottle of the tears of my opponents. I haven’t set a minute restriction and I don’t worry about being traded. I am just a salt of the earth man that was born in flannel. I hate losing. We have so many great players and teammates here. I love them all like my brothers. It was coincidence that I missed both free throws that could have tied the game with 3 minutes left against the Kings. It was also coincidence that I suddenly didn’t want to shoot or pass the ball. Coincidence that I had turnovers the next two times down and blew defensive assignments. We are all a big happy family here. Thibs feeds us off his fat, hairy and zit covered man nipples. Did I tell you I am an awesome and humble dude? A lot like Jesus really... if he had a jumper.”
Wtf is going on with this wolves organization. It’s like thibs is secretly hoping Jimmy Butler stays by delaying as much as he can. Unfortunately season haven’t gone has he hoped. Wolves need to fire thibs while they can or he’ll have everybody hurt again and they’ll lose butler for nothing.
https://forums.realgm.com/boards/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=1754549&start=1940 Just reading the last page and i'm actually surprised by how many Wolves fans would take Knight and picks, i understand they're really tired by the situation, that's for sure.
It says a lot about the fanbase. Because normally fan bases (even when they have less leverage) want the FARM for their player. Just goes to show how much they want to "move on" from what is going on. The team is in limbo. They can't improve or move on. It just game after game until Butler is traded.
