Not that it matters but I think Trump said a permanent replacement will be nominated later. Maybe it will be Whitaker but the wording sounded like it would be someone different.
No, nobody is surprised. Trump telegraphed it pretty loudly before the midterms. The papers all told us he had to be talked out of moving sooner to avoid creating bad press for the elections. But knowing he was going to do it doesn't make it any better that he did it.
Thank you. The point of outrage isn't about surprise. The point of outrage is that, by installing a stooge in place of the guy who rightly recused himself, he is trying to place himself above the law. We know enough from what is publicly available already to know 45 will not come out unscathed from this investigation. Even the new recent indictment gets way too close to 45 himself.
*guy in blue shirt shrugging shoulders iPhone emoji* Was the thinking he would replace Sessions that wasn’t going to be favorable to himself? He’s been saying it forever. Color me unoutraged.
Its far from the end game yet. Democrats know that the no. 1 priority for them is to protect Bob Muller. The longer this sh't continuing into 2020, the better the Democrats will be . Then, focus to rework the whole voting system and strategy and prepare for 2020, getting more governors in this election helps. On policies, the Democrats must at least openly to show co-operation with Trump on economic and trade polices while keep hammering the republicans on health insurance issues. If the Dems want any swing votes in 2020, at least they should show some evidence that they are part of the economic growth but not the enemy, of course, if somehow the economy collapse or the debt issue is growing to be a real problem, they can always blame it on Trump.
...I don't think the Senate's going to be able to find the time... ...there are still a bunch of post offices that need names...
That's about how I had you colored, broseph. No worries! I feel it's the same as Stockton setting a dirty pick on the last play of a game. You've told the refs, sent them film. You've warned him in trash talk that you'll break his leg if he tries it. And then he tries it, and gets away with it. And yeah, I'd still be mad, screaming to the ref. A lot more at stake here, in terms of the country really figuring out just how much Russia got up our ass and how compromised our government might be. But, you know: shrug emoji, maybe with Russian tartar hat.
Because he has been saying it forever doesn't mean there should be outrage. Claiming forever that your going to abuse your power doesn't mean there shouldn't be outraged when a person attempts an abuse of power.
It's within his power to make this move even if it's uncommon and unpopular with some. I haven't understood why this is an abuse of power especially since it seems like he isn't going to in the AG position forever.
What has Sessions done that warrants his removal? If he his removing Sessions because he has recused himself in matters regarding the Mueller investigation as he was obligated to do, then it is an abuse of power.
Trump can replace him when he wants. It's within his power. He hasn't done anything of significance to impede the investigation against him. It is what it is. Also, I can see Trump going for Janice Rogers Brown as AG.
He also never got to fire up his war against the devil's lettuce that he desired so badly, so I'd add that to the win column.
This is really why Trump talks about things ad nauseam beforehand. It gives the Robbie's of the world time to adjust to the brazen corruption of what's coming.
