I was going to say let DJ do what he as paid to do and stop complaining and try to stat pad.

But that’s DJ being a dick and dangerous.

Luca is just boxing out and going for rebounds that would be his.

Win shares depend on how many wins your team had, so you really can't compare a whole season of good team like Utah Jazz to 10 games of dumpster fire that is Atlanta. As for defense, I agree.

Tatum? He is great defensively, but you might overrate him a bit offensively. Currently he is averaging 15.7 points on 40% FG and 35% from 3P with 7 REB and 2.7 AST in 33 min per game. If not for yesterday's 0-7 stinker from 3, Trae Young would have better percentages across the board, and Luka is better in all categories minus rebounds, where he is 1 shy.

Having said that, Trae has usage of 27%, Luka 24% and Tatum 22%. Also, Tatum is not go-to scorer in Boston and he expends lots of energy on defense. But to say he is second coming of Kawhi...I don't know man, you may overrate him a bit because last year's playoffs.

I do not agree with you on this one, @roslolian . Tatum's defense is very suspect (i don't think he's even above average in that department) and his offense isn't as efficient as Kawhi's. I've been reading the Celtics board and a lot of the posters there criticize Tatum for these things. They also think that he's trying to be too much like Kobe - ISOing way too much and way too inefficiently.

No, couldn't possibly be that he pushed their top pick out of the way, leading potentially to injury. Couldn't be that.....

Plus that is usually a fairly advanced shot, developed later in one's career. You don't usually see rookies that proficient with it.

Checked the stats and so far he's 16/35 (45%) on floaters. For comparisons sake:

    2017/18:
    Chris Paul was 24/50 (48%)
    Goran Dragic was 35/74 (47%)
    James Harden was 46/91 (51%)
    Kyrie Irving was 55/102 (54%)
    Damian Lillard was 36/88 (41%)

The main difference is that most of these guys have 10+ years of NBA experience over Doncic. He is so freaking advanced beyond his years it's crazy.

What's crazy about those stats I posted is that those guys are the highest volume floater shooters in the league, because they're so good at it. Harden and Irving each had around 100 attempts last year... And yet Luka is on pace to shatter those numbers! If he keeps up this pace, he'll have around 350 attempted floaters for the season. It really seems like his bread & butter move right now. It's not the most efficient type of shot if you look at the generated points per shot (in Luka's case it's ~0.900 pt which is equivalent to shooting threes at a 30% clip), but it will be really helpful for Luka to have a move he can rely on during his rookie season.

Win shares are basically how many wins a guy contributed which if you look at Trae with his low FG% and 3 pts then yeah. Jazz are a good team but I'm pretty sure Mitchell has a lot to do with it since they just added him to the team when they went on a tear.

Celtics are a mess this year thanks to Irving and Hayward, as a result Tatum is being asked to play out of position at PF. If you made Kawhi a PF I'm pretty sure his stats will drop too. If Tatum is made to play SF and have the offense revolve around him like last year then his stats wouldnt drop.

This tells me that Luka is not only effective with the ball, but moves constantly and knows how to play off the ball.

A lot of the Suns fans aren't particularly happy with Ayton's passiveness/timidness.

Talk to me. In what situations is he timid?

At Arizona, Ayton played smaller than his size. Concerns about this are why I thought his NBA upside was limited.

I was just reading Suns game threads and there are a lot of frustrated fans that think he could be a 30/12 guy if he wanted, but apparently he just doesn't have that fire in him. Who knows, maybe he's just taking his time getting used to the new environment/system.

This tells me his coaches are telling him to run because he is fat (confirmed).
