I think @ch44 has some connections inside the Rockets and he probably kept quiet because things were getting serious. Just my speculation.

I was thinking more along the lines of witness protection. He's been quiiiiiet. Ch44: "The other day I ordered spaghetti with marinara sauce and I got egg noodles with ketchup. I'm just a regular schnook."

    You could be right, though!

Makes me curious as to who else might be out there for that mix of Rockets assets. Clearly Rockets are still all in, and nothing has changed with regard to their willingness to mortgage future for the present. If Butler falls through, who else might be available (and would be desire-able) for 4 picks and chriss/knight?

Do ppl talk about Otto Porter on here? He seems to be a great fit for the Rockets unless I’m missing something.

If they really don't want him to be given to us, then who do you think outside of us will even put up an offer which is competitive with ours (4 FRP)?
I don't think the wizards are going to try at all anymore sitting at 2-8, why give up otto porter/young piece for a guy who won't stay with you after this year along with the fact that adding him will make you probably mediocre/good and you lose a shot at a good pick selection this year in the draft. I think its us and the Heat who really will give this a shot but even Miami is playing well and richardson is off limits entirely you go with a Winslow/Bam and a pick package?? Philly is an outsider with a solid chance if they feel its time to get a veteran. No other team has even come up in a trade discussion and its November already.

Bradley Beal in terms of desire-able for the godfather offer. But he might not be available. Wizards are tough to read. They look like a $hitshow. @Codman has talked about their implosion. But I don't get the sense they are motivated to make moves.

Oubre would be desire-able if you could nab him for 1 first.

The Cavaliers and Wizards will be looking to deal for the future, especially the Cavaliers. I can see the Wizards just running with the current squad. Plus I doubt any one will offer anything of value for Wall. That contract is crazy, over 40 millions dollars in the final year!

True Wolves getting 2 first and Hawks getting 2 first would be fine by me.

Right now Butler would totally help this team but I would rather have it be done (regardless of where he is traded to) just so the team can focus on getting back over 500 and then some for this season.

Yeah, I hate how this thing is just hanging out there. And it might be for some time.

I was also going to bring up Kevin Love but he isn't just out for a month, he's shooting 32% from the floor. NOT GONNA BE ABLE TO DO!

Massive in this context is a max contract. The owner of the Wolves recently said that if the Wolves lose Butler that they intend to be in a position to sign a max free agent. I also agree with you on the idea that the Wolves are not going to get anyone really good in free agency.... but the owner of the Wolves believes they will.

Where is Beal gonna fit in our rotation, you gonna bring him off the bench???? Oubre I get but Beal is gonna be tough to bring in unless you want him as a 6th man?

I guess you just move Harden at the 3, fwiw of course...we played ton of minutes last season with Chris, James and Eric on the floor together, Mike considered starting Gordon this season too so...

I donno man that lineup for long stretches is like....questionable?,....for what its worth I love Beal, I think he's probably the best player on the wizards, but I feel the only role he has on this team is like a SUPER 6th man.

Beal isn’t truly what we need...I don’t see the point in giving up major assets for him

we need a 2-way wing with size

Forget about dealing with Hawks, Hawks have determined not to increase their spending in summer. They are not taking both Knight and Dieng contracts, not even one of them.

Get Terry Rozier, trade Knight to a team that wants to spend.

Love is hurt right now but that Cavs team is a huge mess and he is really their one offensive threat his low fg% for the couple of games he played isnt going to sway me from getting him (if the price is right) at all. He would have so much space and would spread the floor like crazy. Only problem would be he is not a great defender despite being an amazing rebounder.
