I don’t think so. Texans will vote for a Republican even if he’s a complete moron yankee like trump.

It is anecdotal but I know a number of Texas Republicans that have soured on Cruz over the years. At the end of the day they vote for him based on political ideology... but will agree he isn’t principled or trustworthy.

    Very much so.

That's the reason someone who's policy is as far left as Beto's makes any noise in Texas. A more likable GOP candidate and its not close at all.

    Two words - Gun Control.

This is the bottom line. They'll hold their nose and vote for him on ideology … because they are principally opposed to the alternative.

He should probably try to become mayor somewhere, or just move to Washington and get on with a think tank or the next Dem cabinet, then relocate to a bluer state to get elected to the Senate. I don't think people are gonna **** around with someone with no federal or gubernatorial experience for a while.

Man, why are you hating on Kerr, the person? Dude is a good man. He just happens to coach the hated Worriers.

Doesn’t matter. He’d be running against an incumbent. The experience advantage is huge when an incumbent is involved.

Some people are just too smug to root for.

There's no denying Beto is "cool"

I still think 2020 is too early for him to run for president and it's a bit of a bad look given that he said he wouldn't .

But doesn't Texas have the other senate seat open in 2020 ?

It seems that if he could refine a few things he could win that ? He definitely has name recognition now . Not that he didn't Vs Cruz ....

I dunno , I think he would need a lot of work to run vs trump . He's just an OK debator . Trump (while I think he speaks like an idiot ) obviously has tapped in to something his supporters like . But Beto is nowhere near the speaker Obama is .

He is cool like every 90s attempt to cool things up with a skateboard and a backwards baseball cap...

Beto would be a good option for the dems if he could earn a larger role in politics but will face stiff competition if the Repubs run a woman like Nikki Haley.

Disliked yes, favored also yes because of the other options. Not very many true Cruz supporters out there.

I know plenty of Republicans. Hard to find anyone who actively “likes” Ted Cruz.

Despite the fact that the president was best known for being a game show host?
