Oh for sure. I suspect health care protection for preexisting conditions will be gone soon. Choice will soon follow. The country will tilt deeper red.

Beto demolishing Cruz in Dallas and Travis. Harris and El Paso still haven’t been counted.

It’s a weird one for sure. Still thinking Ted squeaks it out.

50 to 48% with Beto leading, with 51% of the votes in. I didn't think it would be this close, or that Cruz would trail.

I see this being very narrow whoever wins, with bitter recriminations because of that.

I'm following Fox news (surprise, surprise) but they seem to be reporting data accurately and in a timely fashion.

As a side note, it is interesting to see how many races across the nation are two female candidates going against each other. That has got to be a new milestone for our politics.

Fox is still saying Beto 51-47 (or so), with 65% of the votes in. This can't be good for Cruz, if accurate.

Everywhere I'm checking has 2 or 3 percent of precincts reporting- what sources are showing 50-60 percent reporting?

It would be an earthquake if Beto wins, but on a night where republicans are winning a good amount of tossup races elsewhere, a dem senate win in TX would be utterly bizarre.

A virtual tie in Texas with 58% of vote reported according to MSNBC. (Like 60 vote lead for Beto)

I've got to think Cruz is going to get a huge uptick at the end with the ass-end-of-nowhere rural counties. For Beto to win, imo, he should have a pretty comfortable margin at about 75%-85% counted. If it's really tight at that point, I'm guessing Cruz pulls it out.

I could be way off base, but that is my working assumption.

MSNBC's math guy pointing out that the results so far in terms of percentages are reflecting Trump level support in red states which bodes poorly for Beto.

I thought it's usually the urban counties that report later due to the number of votes they have to count ?

What I just saw had Cruz up 1500 votes, but the election day voting from Harris County didn't look like it had been counted. It was just the early votes from Harris County that had been counted so far. Crazy stuff.

It is especially crazy considering how big Abbot won for Gov. that Cruz doesn't have a sizeable lead.
