Just voted. Expected huge line. No line. Half of the machines were available. I guess the deluge of early voting cooled things off at least in my neighborhood.

I'd expect a rush coming in the next hour as people get off work.

Same in my polling location (in a church near Conroe). They said it was busy/crowded but we walked right in and voted. Betting that changes now as people get off work.

About 730 pm, Fox news reporting Beto ahead of Ted about 51 to 47. Just 23% of the vote in. But I have to say I'm surprised. Could he pull out the upset?

If Ann Richards was alive she would say, "there is a chance." Alas

WAY WAY WAY too early but there are some interesting numbers in Texas, likely due to the effect Beto has had on the down ticket races. Mike Collier is in a virtual tie with Dan Goebel (Patrick) for Lt. Governor. Justin Nelson is leading (indicted) Ken Paxton. Kim Olson is tied with Sid Miller for Ag Commissioner. Even Lupe Valdez is outperforming expectations, still losing significantly to Governor Abbott, but doing better than I'd expect at 43%.

Still a long ways to go. Nothing in from Harris yet.

Seeing the rest of the races, not too optimistic about Beto pulling it off. He will be close but close only counts in horse shoes and hand grenades.

Oh well, on to 2020. Hopefully trump and the republicans don't screw things up too much.

That will help Beto, and he's outperforming Hillary's votes in a lot of places so that looks good for him. But it's always important to remember it is Red Texas about which we are talking.

The results tonight are going to be devastating for 2020 for Democrats if it continues the way it's trending right now. Further redistricting to benefit Republicans, no possibility to take the Senate, etc.

The fact that tossup races in other states are breaking 50/50ish or red means Beto is definitely gonna lose by at least the projected margin.
