HOUSTON TEXANS: Buy wide receiver Demaryius Thomas ... or Jordy Nelson. Deshaun Watson is giving a Herculean effort right now, going as far as traveling 12 hours on a bus so he could avoid swelling in his injured ribcage and continue to play hurt. It worked, but in watching Houston's games, it's painfully apparent that outside of DeAndre Hopkins, Will Fuller and the occasional breakout game from Keke Coutee, the Texans could use some help at the position. Since there isn't any decent offensive line help available this year, the next best option offensively is to add another experienced target for Watson. Enter Thomas or Nelson. Both should be offered to prospective buyers, with Thomas acknowledging his time in Denver is nearly up and Oakland ready to trade everyone but the quarterback. Potential compensation: Fourth-round pick (for Thomas) or fifth-round pick (for Nelson).

Probably no one believed me but I kept saying Chris Clark's problem was that he was horrible as a RT but decent at left.

Well, BoB and his OL coach have always had a hard time identifying where to play their own guys. Its happened again with Davenport this year; moving him from left, where he is comfortable, to right, where he is clueless.

This may be an indicator that they are not bringing Kevin Johnson off of IR. Or, if they can't find someone they like they make instead decide to bring him off the IR.

Tyler Ervin has a better chance to stay on the team than you think. He is the primary returner and backup to a position where the starter (Coutee) is injured.

Bills waived CB Phillip Gaines. The Bills' No. 2 cornerback, Gaines had actually improved on his dismal Chiefs play, at least according to Pro Football Focus. Gaines' 2018 bugaboo has been penalties. No one has been charged with more penalty yards (131). Second-year UDFA Ryan Lewis is expected to take Gaines' spot opposite Tre'Davious White.
