Full disclosure: My father is African American and my mother is a "black" immigrant....so while I'm African-American, I'm also a second generation immigrant. A major difference in family structure.....eh that would depend on what you mean. I have certain West Indian family members whose family structure mirrors the stereotypical African American family structure. It is true that immigrant populations tend to achieve more but this isn't surprising given that these are self-selected populations. It takes ALOT of money to uproot your life and move hundreds of thousands of miles away. For instance, my grandparents had to save for decades to be able to send my mother and her sisters to the U.S. and Britain. As far as instability in the African-American family unit, that is a problem...as it would be in any household. But sometimes I feel the problems are overstated. Then again, I don't have the complete "African-American experience". I just know that I seen many problems attributed to African Americans across multiple ethnic groups.
How does that relate to the initial post of "hispanics long passing blacks"? While the statistic is true, I'm unsure as to how it strengthens your initial argument.
Crime andd economics arent related? https://statisticalatlas.com/place/Texas/Houston/Household-Income Houehold income by race in Texas Blacks are last behind such notables as other
Crime and economics can be relates but not always. For example native Americans are the poorest racial group in the country but they commit less crimes than some other racial groups.
Not here to argue about crime. Its sad natives are poorer and we have higher crime rates. You're just arguing to argue putting your foot in your mouth. Gave you your stats. Keep arguing about that or good day
To be completely fair...this is true of all immigrants. All immigrants, no matter their race, usually work harder. They are usually coming to America with a purpose and drive, that's just the natural tendency of the immigrant. It's like a player coming to a new team yeah? They want to prove themselves and don't want to be the reason the team fails so they go out of their way to be the perfect teammate. African immigrants, Indian immigrants, Chinese immigrants...these people come to America and make the most of the opportunities they have and usually outperform most American citizens no matter their race. It isn't the race or culture, it's just the human spirit of going someplace new and knowing you have to work 20x harder...and also that to be an immigrant means you are escaping something or coming here for a specific purpose.
Because this thread was never about asking why Black folk aren't attracted to blue collar jobs as much as hispanics. It's about why "Black people are bad". This was OP's vailed attempt to be a tad racist by propping up hispanics.
This is about the dumbest **** ever How can yoou solve problems if you arent real about them Dude asked me to provide evidence we're behind. Does crime statistics not prove that? Since he is sensative i laid off
You are ignoring the problem of crime within the hispanic community too. What about the DUI's and drug possession statistics within the hispanic community. I agree that hispanic immigrants tend to work harder because they literally left their county TO work but that doesn't stop second and third generation hispanics from having the same issues blacks have. You wanna be real? Be real about everyone. We all have our problems. White men are literally killing themselves at a faster rate than any other race in this country. The drug epidemic has set back their average lifespan.
Educated blacks being sensitive and not wanting to be associated with poor black people's problems is not helping. As a matter of fact its a distraction and hindrance If you graduated from college obviously im not referring to you
Through picking up trades Hispanics start businesses. Their community becomes self reliant. A Hispanic kid goes to jail he can go work for family. A black kid not so much. Thats why you don't hear Hispanics complaining about businesses opening in their community and nott bringing jobs They create their own
