Many comedians do make fun of both sides, one side has just made it easier as of late. Look at South Park.
Have we ruled out the possibility that pgabs was the inspiration for Chappelle's Clayton Bigsby? Spoiler
Hispanics come here with a culture and a solid family structure; blacks don't have either at the moment. However, over a generation or two, Hispanics become deculturarized in this country and their patriarchal family structure begins to break down. This especially happens if their hard work doesn't entrench them into the American middle class. Hispanics then get trapped in America's welfare state and their families become matriarchies much like blacks. I think, Hispanics are more likely to take the types of jobs that blacks don't, but probably should because, even though education isn't emphasized, hard work and modesty is. I agree with the poster that said blacks are more entrepreneurial, although Hispanics, even illegal ones, are represented as very small to small business owners. If there were more ambitious blacks willing to humble themselves and learn trades, there would be more small business owners that would benefit black communities. I think, both communities will eventually be on the same sunken boat because it won't benefit anyone besides Hispanics and blacks to change things. This is assuming that neither community will accumulae the power necessary to buy change in this country. BTW, Norm Macdonald is a low-key conservative comedian.
I agree with most of this post other than i think the only thing Hispanics don't do now is get involved politically to their potential. They will only move forward when they capitalize on their numbers. They are 18% blacks are 14%. When they do politicians will cater more to them at the expense of blacks
I’m confused as to how this one annecdotal example means that “Hispanics” have past “blacks”. My mother immigrated to the US in the early 1980s with her entire life packet in 2 large suitcase trunks. Today she has completed her Ph.D in education and has 4 other degrees at the Masters, Ed Specialist and Bachelor’s degree level. Even though she has been married to my father for 34 years, her independent net worth would put here in the top 3-5% of American households. Does this mean “Hispanics” have “passed” her?
Yea, the part about black people not have culture or a strong family network is an over generalization. Black immigrants have an extremely strong connection to the cultures of their home nations. African Americans also have very strong cultural ties.
So you complain about my anecdotal evidence to talk about your mom? Everyone in my five family house graduated from college including my 81 year old father. If you think my experience about Hispanics having more skilled labor jobs and blacks being at the bottom you're a fool One of the reasons educated blacks refuse to look at reality cause you always get offended cause you're looking at the subject personally. Im talking about the whole not your mom. Im should not have to clarify that with someone who is educated
Yeah.... that would last like 20 minutes. The government would put an end to that REALLY fast. Can you imagine a caravan or black men, forming in Michigan and running through the rust belt, accumulating numbers with the plan of settling somewhere like Texas or Florida......... The level of outrage would be unheard of. Old people would be demanding immediate action........ a wall would be built in less than 24 hours from retiree's donating their time to build the wall. Fox news viewers as soon as Sean Hannity reports that the caravan of black men have crossed the Mason Dixon line.......... The moment the caravan crosses the Florida border......
I brought up my anecdotal example to show you how flawed your initial premise is. If you would have quoted some statistics or longitudinal studies, you might have been able to make a decent point, but anecdotal examples hardly do that. I can point to nearly every person in my family's immediate circle (the majority are black, one is mexican) and you would see a similar story to my mother's.
To be fair there is a major difference between "African Americans" and black families that are immigrant based in America. All the data shows it. Also, the main problem with American blacks is not that they are black it's that the family structure has for the most part never been as stable due to a variety of issues and this creates a whole long list of problems.
